any idea wat this is ma banger game just keeps crashin when press connect :@

old prob raising its head again, lots of ideas on forum but no solutions yet. It stopped happening to me when i changed my pooter, try upgrading memory and graphics card.

Try copying the options.cfg from a working mod into your banger folder.

This is a dual core problem. This is Swerve's solution which I use.

ok click on ukdirt bangers to . when game menu comes up. hold down ALT + TAB.

 

This will take you back to your desktop. then hold down CTRL , ALT and DEL this will bring up a box top left of screen,, look in list for NHeat.exe highlight it, then left click on it. box pops up , see SET AFFINITY. CLICK on it then untick CPU1 and leave CPU0 running. then do the same for Heat.Bin which is in the list of running programs also. once you have stopped the one of the cores. just close all boxes and click down bottom left NASCAR HEAT and that will take you back to your game. sounnds long winded but only takes a sec. you dont have to keep doing it. when your racing a meet , just hold down TAB and ALT to get out of game and then go into chat. you will see the nascar heat game is still running down bottom left of your screen, just click on that everytime you want to go back in from chat back into race.

 

It works, as i cant run online unless i do this. it crashes nearly everytime, if i forget to do it.

followed your instructions but when I try to set "affinity " , both processes are already using CPU0 ,

any ideas

thanks rusty , I had changed the game to run in win98 mode , took off compatibility and it now shows both CPU's ticked so I'll try it on Friday’s practice.

I also found a patch on AMDs site for dual core along with a handy user forum , it seems this isn't the only game that crashes unexpectedly , they suggest installing the "optimizer" and changing the PC's power management from "minimal" to "home/office "

I'll update this post if it's successful or otherwise incase anyone else runs into this problem.
