Andymek Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 (edited) how can someone forget that car m8 Certainly was hard to forget it!!! What ever happened to the car then Chops? Wasn't the reg. used for the bus? I seem to recall it was sitting along the coast at Alan Stirlings place a few years back? What car was the Bombay taxi originally then? You mentioned it was Gordons chevette, was that one of the 3 or 4 cars that were all built at the same time and were on view at the show at Livingston From what I recall there were 3 or so cars in various stages of construction on show and were getting displayed as something along the lines of "Scot-Stocks" That correct? Would be great if you had more pics from that era we could look back at again!! P.S, A few old pics on my site(link at bottom of thread) Edited March 27, 2005 by andymek69

chops660 Posted March 27, 2005 Author Report Posted March 27, 2005 (edited) Who could ever forget that car! What did happen to it Gordon? Remember the Chassis at Livingston show too Andy. Cheers Mac yip, it was the template of the 4 that was built, (ment to be 6). this car was the completed one at the show (Gogs's) the paneled chassis was Ramond Gunns, and the steel work only chassis was Neil Mc Andrews. All of who are sadly not with us. Im sure i've got pics some where. My car ended up being crushed after lying outside for so long and rotting away, Raymond's was bought and raced, and also Neil's was bought and raced, which i think turned into a sunbeam, the other one, which belonged to David Bowman is still lying in Fife, but i believe was cut up, to be turned into a sierra... And yip the reg was on the bus, still was last time i seen it at skegg few years ago, USP 299... The Morris oxford chassis was in the yard, and being offered to the Morris oxford owners club, but Gogs went to burgoyne's one night and i got handy with the stihl saw and took the roof off it, and the rest you can imagine...  Edited March 27, 2005 by chops660
NightOwl Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Aye, you certainly don't see much saloons like that these days! Nice to hear the story of the Chevettes, though you can't help thinking it's sad the drivers are no longer with us...present company excepted Chops!
