Ham 775 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 As confirmed by Deane Wood on THIS thread over on ovalchat Spedeworth Southern have taken over the lease on Ringwood Raceway with immediate effect. No point me reproducing it all here. Click and read it for yourselves
Nick M48 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 While on the subject of Ringwood, if anyone can get pics of the track and its trackside scenery (food wagons, fences, toilet blocks, armco etc etc) for modelling it for the league I'd greatly appreciate it. Cheers in advance
TRAV365 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 please no no no nickm lol its a rod fest track just like hendesford only my opinon by the way im sure it will be great
Magpye105 Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 OMG - Only 2 months after I was threatened with a ORC ban for wanting to race my 1300 Stock Car at Ringwood, and now I can LMAO!!! Spedeworth to take over the world next!!! Which rules will they be racing to? Shame the car probably won't be fixed by 7th May in order to get down there.....fingers crossed I don't get asked to work this weekend as is being hinted at....then maybe I can sort it out. (there goes Rockingham and Hednesford ) Nick I will post some photos later that were taken when I raced there last in 2000, if they are ok. The show some of the outside of the track.
Munster Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Bit of a nightmare for me as just spent out to race ford rods there, bought all I need apart from a few things, was hoping to race on the 7th or 28th may..been building the car for a while now and have most of it done and now it's a good chance I won't be able to race it. Don't know if speedworth will keep the formula going ? often 20/30 cars for each ford rod meeting, good for ringwood lately... Munster

Munster Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Hope things work out for ya m8. 14680[/snapback] Cheers m8, always race it somewhere else maybe.. Nick.... When / if i go to the track again i'll get some pictures for you, i have some but probably not any good for modeling.
Magpye105 Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Munster, Don't dispare too soon, as Deane Wood did say on the Ovalchat forum i will try and run as much to johns fixture list as i can with a few changes with the spedeworth formulas. and i will keep you all posted when i no more tomorrow yours deane wood spedeworth southern Which I read to say that the formulae will stay the same, but he will intergrate the spedeworth formulae, ie 1300 Stocks together, as it is all bar 3 meetings clash with the formula running on other Spedeworth tracks, so the dates I guess will be shuffled. Same with the Superstox, Ministox & Lightnening Rods, most likely to have date clashes. I guess the Banger rules will be changed in 2006 to Spedeworth's to encourage travelling drivers, especially Rookies. However to change any fixtures to include them into Spedeworth points scoring will have an effect on drivers in the formulae at the moment, ie more meetings to have to do to win the points championship! Most changes will happen in the winter I think you'll find! Good Luck anyway
Knobby Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Looks like i now only have the 1 track to race at now... Ah Well Arena Essex only it is
NightOwl Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Don't know if speedworth will keep the formula going ? often 20/30 cars for each ford rod meeting, good for ringwood lately... Reckon if they're getting those sorts of numbers, he'd be a fool to drop them, and he'd have an army of angry drivers banging on his door! Hope you get to race.
Munster Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Hi It does seem they will keep the formula going untill the end of the season at least, so should get quite a few meetings in if they don't change the fixtures that is. I hope they will keep it going next year as you said nightowl with that many drivers they would be stupid to stop it. Never thought id get a speedworth licence... brother will go mad lol Munster.
markie176 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Hi nick great to see you are thinking of doing ringwood but as people are talking oldskool how about aldershot stadium was a great banger a ssc track small tight track with post and wires. cheers markie.
Guest Scrapman53 Posted April 30, 2005 Report Posted April 30, 2005 Going by what I've seen on the Doral videos Havoc series, Aldershot was possibly the best track I've ever seen. Pity I didn't pay it a visit before it shut down
