Since updating to v1255f I have had problems

My 1st heat, would not let me in the server.

My 2nd heat, didn't lap score me

My 3rd heat all was fine.

Final , practised and started ok, then lap scored me until 5 laps to go then stopped registering my laps.

GN sat on grid ready to go, then grid disappeared and I lost connection 30 secs later.

I have no warp that I can see, but assume this is all a connection problem.

Also got the "anyone not ready" & "roll at 30, about 10 laps" into the Final!

I have updated to version 0.2 but had a server mismatch.

Shall I just delete rfactor and start again :banghead2:

Did you try deleting the F1 StockCar.cch file from your UserData>playername folder, as that solved the mismatch for me?

Don't go reinstalling rFactor just yet Splinter. I would delete the F1 stuff including the .cch file and reinstall it again first.

Deleted just the cch and F1 stockcars folder, re-installed everything and no more mismatch on the server.

I think the lap scoring was a problem with my transponder..it probably fell out in the pits

I would think all your connection problems are more ISP related. What ISP you on

PIPEX are well known for using connection shaping. I would put good money thats where your connection problem is

yes i have wondered, something's seem real slow downloading/uploading for no reason, whereas other things are fast as hell.

They used to be great till that hasselhoff started working for them!

hmmmph i've had the same problem with Pipex for around a month....according to some trace software i'm using, some of their servers seem to drop out and reappear about every 15 seconds, so the trace server is showing lost packets of info on the test.....depending on which server it is the dropped % can be anywhere between 10 and 40% loss :@ - i've mailed and called them on several occasions and i'm getting nowhere with them, havent had a clean nights racing in at least a month and they're really peeing me off now. The last mail i received off them was their standard 'why we network manage our users' spiel and they havent offered any solutions thus far.

pish, just pish :banghead:

oh ps, on the trace it appears that most of our north to south connections go via mainland europe (probably for cheaper line rental than using BT lines) .......... doesnt help.

when I first joined Pipex they were great, best value and brilliant customer service and fast. Since they appear to have got bigger, more popular, and more commercialised, everything has gone downhill.

You can definatly tell certain programs have controlled bandwidth and like you say, the last month I have had noticeable warp in heat and problems getting on to jolt, 3 or 4 times in both rFactor and Heat. Yet browsing and d/l from internet and speed tests all show that the connection is spot on.

It is doing the same thing on two broadband connections I pay for from either end of my town. I have never phoned them over this issue but after last night, I think I better had.

You do realise pipex are now owned by tiscali,so things can only get worse.

Pipex dont throttle http traffic ,so browsing and speedtests seem normal.

oh god do they! I missed that one

I will definatly be changing then, who's best for gaming, cheap n cheerful ISP now then?

I dont like dealing through BT or Tiscali from past experience. Trouble is they're the two big ISP's

I was with Tiscali for a while and they were terrible, they would throttle ports at peak times which made online racing next to impossible and then after about midnight everything was fine :banghead2: Get out if you can pronto!

I am with BT Broadband using the up to 8mb adsl , and touch wood it has been fantastic since i got it 8 or so months ago , i'm about a mile from the exchange and get 750kbs on good download servers. i play Teamfortress 2 and on uk servers my ping is 5.

i can recommend them highly. :042:
