Good Evening Guys,

Thanks to everyone that has booked in to race tonight. Should everyone turn up, we will have 24 cars racing which I think is magnificent.

Please remember though that the main aim of this meeting is to try and similate the normal F1 meetings format, and thus, instead of consoaltions, we have pre-final face off races instead. I have split them down into two due to the fact that I want to test racing in 2 servers at the same time also.

Anyway, here are the grades and the meeting info.

GRADES FOR TONIGHT:

S/S; 41, 331, 188

Red; 123, 137, 236, 212, 53, 684, 233

Blue; 136, 8, 39, 286

Yellow; 112, 300, 315, 20

White; 47, 272, 221, 18, 159, 531

HEAT GRIDS;

PRE RACE 2; 159, 221, 531 // 300, 315 // 39, 136 // 53, 123, 233 // 188 (STEWARD; DANSKIN) SERVER ENDING .180

FINAL;

THIS WILL BE ALL IN DUE TO NUMBERS

GRAND NATIONAL;

THIS WILL BE ALL IN DUE TO NUMBERS

Any problems with it, then please let me know in chat.

Tonight will also be the first time that we will use stewards for a full meeting. You will no longer go when the whites exit turn four. You will go when the stewards call go.

I have been told that with the new servers, rfactor does not come up in the main multiplayer menu when your are looking to connect ot he server. Therefore you need to go to the manual IP ADDRESS BUTTON, and insert the ip address of the server.

Remember, UK Dirt rules apply, but please try and have fun.

Cheers

Johno

what was the problem like?

basically I did a new server profile with a number of the ingame settings changed, for instance if you noticed tonight the server went straight to warmup with no practice or qualifying session. I set the bandwith settings to the same as the server I normally setup, it appears they work fine there but not on the new servers.

So yes all shout at me if you want my fault :shrug:

Yep, as I said after the meeting - thanks to everyone who did, for staying around and helping out by testing at this test meeting. I'd far rather we wobble our way through half of the first test meeting scratching our heads and playing with server settings than get to the first real meeting with a problem like this.

:2: And thanks to Drumb for those server settings, if having a slider set in the wrong place is the biggest problem we have all year then things are looking good.

Thanks to everyone that raced last night, and thanks to everyone who everyone that stayed and gave us a chance to sort it out.

As I explained before the meeting, the meeting was aimed at trying out a real format (which we did 3 heats final and grand national in a hour and a half despite the problems) and also test out the new things that we have done with the server.

Unfortuntely, as stated above, we got a small thing wrong that caused massive problems, and it took us a little time to work out what this was. I appreciate that you all turned up to race, and want to race in the best possible environment, but please please give us chance to get things sorted, without mouthing off at us all the time. We said we were trying new things, and thats what we were doing after each race. This isnt meant as a lecture, and I hope it isnt taken that way, but someties you have to work with us guys rather than against us.

Having solved the problems, I do hope to hold one more meeting just to finalise everything. Who knows, perhaps on a new track, but all that depends. I will announce something in the week as too weather or not there wil be a second test meeting.

Cheers

Johno

More than likely it'll be announced at the last minute then just like this weeks track then? I don't see what all the top secret stuff is all about when we can all see what track is next on RFC!

The great thing about a test meeting is that it is just that, a test, and if that test can coincide with testing a track as well then we really should take that opportunity, to ensure no little problems creep through, like the original Bradford lap scoring, which (unless people hadn't have tested it in practice) might not have been spotted until a full meeting, which I'm sure nobody will have been happy about.

If Hednesford is done for this test, then we might use it. If Kings Lynn is done for this test, we might use it. If neither are done, we'll use another track. I really don't see what the problem is, if you don't like uncertainty and feel you need time to practice/mentally prepare for a test meeting, you'll be happy to know that the 2008 fixtures have been released here so you can practice as many weeks in advance as you wish. If this was the season, I could understand, but I'm stumped as to why there's even an issue here?

Anyway,

Thanks for running the meeting Johno, don't worry about the problems Drumb, I'm just glad it was such an easy fix, and at least this test confirmed what that setting needs to be, so the problem doesn't occur in the season. Quite a successful test in that respect, looking forward to the next one, those last two races just wet my whistle and got me wanting more of the same :thumbup:

Well done on running circles around everyone all night Kruiz, rumour has it you'll be starting from a lap handicap for every race at the start of the season.

Aw there's no need for that lol. Could we have a shale test meeting and I'll prove I'm as useless as before.. or I'll paint the Goold stripes yellow and line up from there for shale meetings :rofl:

The test meeting was a sucess imo as we fixed a problem that would have otherwise occured at the first meeting of the season, well done guys :appl:
