matthew413 Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 Don't know if this has been posted before, but if anyone is struggling with setups give the default ones a try, I think they've been updated with the latest patch. I used my own for 2 heats last night, then switched to the default and was a good 2 tenths faster by the last few laps of the GN. One of the things I didn't like about Heat was the secrecy of setups. Although its not as critical in rfactor (a shale track will always need to be driven differently unlike heat) the new defaults are a good second a lap faster than the old ones, so give them a try. Thanks to whoever made them too!
The London Allstar Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 Your right, they didnt improve all of the default setups with the release of 1.2, what i do now is start by doing 20 laps with the default setup and the tweak it to suit, although i still end up being 0.2/0.3 or more off the pace at every track!
drumbstick Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 The shale setup should be about on the pace at most places now, the tar setup probably still needs tweaking for each place but should be good at NIR, and Ippy
RobertL Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 (edited) i agree lads,i used my own setup for heat 1,2 and 3(struggled a lot with these) i switched and used the default setup for the Final and finished 2nd with some good laptimes Edited January 8, 2009 by Robert428
Aub Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 i used default all last nite it works fine for me
The London Allstar Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 I tweaked a few things on the default setup and used that all last night, it wasn't fast but i found it consistent and very easy to slide. Tried a few shale tracks in the last hour or so hopefing that a decent setup (ie the improved default) will help me, and it has a little, still alot of practice needed though.
