This weekend we head to the Dutch tracks of Sexbierum and Baarlo Short for what sounds like a specialist club and an expensive drink.

However, I promise you it isn't, we are in fact going racing at what is probably the two most unqiue tracks, for the most unqiue night on the calender, to race a dirt and tarmac track in the same night, the first of only 4 shale/tarmac nights this year.

Sexbierum always supplies very fast, and open races, with its wide corners, allowing for about 5 cars wide, and no fence to avoid, so you can be hit hard, go wide but build up the speed as you exit to be right back onto the bumper of the car who hit you for the straight.

Baarlo Short, has a very side corner on turn 1 and 2 allowing for fast, almost flat out entry and exit, but then rememmber not to go shooting up the long straights for the full circuit, and take the diversion across the centre green, for a much slower very narrow corner which needs hard braking and a perfect line otherwise your going grass tracking!! The contrast between the two corners always catches out plenty of drivers making the track throw up some real suprise results for those who manage stay on track.

Both meetings carry National Series points, so here is an update on the National Series. Currently in the Shoot out positions are as follows:

Currently heading the National Series is TomD #112 with 155 points, so it will be interesting to see if he can stay there after a few more meetings at Super star grade.

Second is Lee #531, with 137 points who is in exacly the same situation as TomD, having just been promoted from blue.

JK #16 is in 3rd, with 134 points who is yet another lower grader to have a great start to the season and now finds himself up from yellow to red grade, but looks to have settled in well at Skegness. In 4th is myself with 125 points who is desperate to lead the points chart as soon as I can get there!

MoR #137 is in 5th spot with 114 points after a good start to the season and will certainly looking to stay inside the top 6.

The last spot for the shoot out currently belongs to Johno #3, despite being downgraded, and is certainly one of the faster blue grade drivers out there and will be looking to capatlise on this so don't be suprised to see him climbing further up the table in the next month.

Just outside the Shoot out places:

Walker #363 in 7th with 105 points and has just been upgraded, he will want to improve on this position and make the shoot out later on in the year but willhave to settle down into the blue grade quickly and see how it goes from there.

The first driver to have not raced in all the rounds so far, sits in 8th who is Marten #291 with 85 points. Usually the fastest when he races, has more than enough capabilities to win the shoot out, but getting there will require more appearances from him.

Fellow Dutch driver Mike #315 is in 9th with 82 points and has already shown he's far too good for yellow by cleaning up last week at the UK Open double header. With a whole month of yellow grade starts ahead of him, before an inevitable upgrade to blue or beyond he will want to seize the chance to score as many easy points as possible, and boost himself into the top 6.

Tosh #8 sits in 10th, with 72 points and after partaking in all rounds so far its surprising not to see Tosh feature inside the top 6, but a poor (or unlucky as he will tell you ;)) start to the season by his standards has seen him downgraded to blue, but with blistering pace such as his, hes sure to score many points this month and climb the table.

Another driver to have done all 5 rounds so far is Dode #151 and has 67 points which puts him in 11th position. Dode has had a good start to the season, and was upgraded to blue. He will certainly want to improve upon that and settle into the blue grade as soon as possible.

Finally, the British champ Aub #188 is in 12th position after shaky start to the season he has scored 65 points, he has shown some good pace, but needs to pick up his consistentcy if he's to make the top 6. Tied in 12th with 65 points is Grasser #233, he was showing impressive pace last week, more than good enough for blue grade and would undoubtedlyfeature higher in the order if he had made his season debut earlier.

There are of course many more drivers with National Series points, those are just the current main contenders, but with 17 rounds left before the shoot out, all that could well change.

If you want to play your Shale or Tarmac joker at either of the rounds you will be albe to do so, just let an admin member know before the start of the meeting.
