Mav Posted July 6, 2010 Report Share Posted July 6, 2010 You did end my race Tom as you broke my wheel, but I knew that you didn't know it wasn't me who put you in, was disappointed to exit the race early, but it happens. Very happy to have won a race last night after I couldn't get comfortable with driving Skegness, was unlucky with incidents in the other heats and as I said earlier disappointed in the UK Open itself. Aub Posted July 6, 2010 Report Share Posted July 6, 2010 I really enjoyed the meeting thank god it wasnt all in and the meeting went on longer than 30 mins. Ok last year we had to rush through the meeting as we started at 9pm but nowadays the meeting is over at 9pm its killing the community spirit like there used to be. Hardly any comments are left after the meeting no one takes anytime to get to know new members god knows what impression that gives off but it cant be good. Anyroad onto the meeting heat 2 broke away from the reds rather well and got past the blues easy enough i think that left me 4th with kendo, spike jnr and dave infront. Dave was bloody flying and quickley made it into the lead i was someway behind him but i chased him down and knocked him wide last corner to take the win no i did think shall i let him win but naw he would have had a pop at me so why not still im pretty sure thats our first 1-2 in f2s for a very long time. My second heat i caught a spinning pusher thus spinning me and i found myself at the back i caught back up with robin, woody, gary and i believe 1 other but i cant remember who and that was a very hard battle i somehow survived for 8th. 3rd heat made my way through the reds again only to find pusher again lol i hit him flat out in the side i couldnt see through the smoke my car took off i landed and surprisingly no damage i got up to second chasing gary down i made a mistake with 2 to go that proberly cost me a shot on the last lap and maybe a win. My 4th heat was all very easy really got through the pack got into the lead and that was it a nice simple win. So that was enough to get myself pole i went into the first bend faaaaarrrr to deep as lost a few places got back up into the lead etc got shuffled down again so when it had sort of settled down i found myself in 5th with some work to do i made my way past mike and gary and got up to 3rd woody had a decent lead over robin and i was catching the pair in 3rd. Woody got caught up with some backmarkers and robin caught him robin took a few shots but all he did was balls his own car up so i just drove past him on the last lap to take second. well chuffed Im gonna have ago at doing a video of the ukopen i have started it but im not sure if i like it yet. So next week is the Euro traditionally i have a guff draw with that race with the exception of 2007.
