Well done to all the qualifiers...wasn't quite as action packed as I had feared it was going to be but I still paid the price for a lack of track time. Enjoyed a great battle for a few laps with DanSkin and Pedz until they got me oot their way and carried on their own battle for 8th...then was involved in a battle with Marky for a few laps until we came upon Spike stranded broadside across the back straight. Luckily (for me) Spike engaged first gear rather than reverse and sent Mark up the plating as he rejoined...but rather than see me miss out on the action Spike decided to plant me into the turn 1 plating on the next lap! The rest of the race was spent in the wheel tracks of Spike...not having enough pace to catch him but still hoping there would be some final lap frolics somewhere. Twas not to be...but there's always the Consolation Semi! Hope to cya'll there :2:

Sorry I disappeared pretty much after crossing the line in the Grand National. I could hear gears and tears starting in the background so I dashed off!

Can I first of all thank everyone for last night. Gary and the Admin Team did a superb job on a tricky night.

Well done to Robin and Tom for winning their respective Semi Finals. Well do to Lew on taking the meeting final.

My first venture out on tarmac in the F2 for about a year and I really enjoyed myself. I thought the meeting was superb and there was a lot of respect paid to drivers, which all around meant some very good racing.

I really struggled over the weekend to get any kind of pace at all. I occasionally broke into the 14.2's. I was really struggling. Drumbstick tried to help me, but I only got a tiny bit faster. I then spoke to Dan on the phone who told me that I had some things that I could change in the extras. So I changed the diff and I changed the gear box and that was it then, I was at least nearthe pace of the bulk of the field. So thanks very much to Dan and Drumbstick. Whilst iiwll not be a regular, and I do not know if that set up works everywhere, I will try and attend more meetings on a Monday, even during term time. I think I have a set up for both surfaces and thus I think I can at least get some decent finishes.

Speking of decent finishes, I am not sure what happened in the Grand National. I went into it second, hit the leader, and all chaos broke loose!! I then did a little dance with a white top backmarker (sorry I dont know who you were) as he tried to get out of my way and I tried to get around him and we both kept going in the same direction  It was very funny!!

Anyway, thanks once again to everyone involved in last night's meeting. I will most definitely be back for more!!

Cheers

Johno

EDIT: Apologies to Robin too for having a few goes at him in the final. It is not normally my style at all, but someone reminded me that in the meeting final we race for the inside. He wasn't in my Semi Final so I had to try and slow him down!! Sorry sir - it is not normally like me!!

All in all a good nights racing from where I was. I really thought the semis would be carnage but they turned out to be quite tame, and as Johno said there was a lot of give and take all night. I did get taken out by a bad rejoin in the GN which is one of my pet peeves but I would have settled for only 1 incident all night before the meeting.

Gary did a good job of getting it done before 10:35 just; And I am not sure you need to apologise Johno Robin got you much harder than you got him!!!

Oh and good job semi 2 finishing in the top 4 places of the final ;o)

Very well run meeting Gary to have it finished for the start of Gears and Tears.

Shame the track was all guffed up in the final and G.N.

Good meeting for me happy to take my first win from superstar and then back that up with a couple of 2nds shame about the dnf in the final but i expected at least 1 during the night. I have been way off the pace the last few weeks i could be the guff tracks we have been racing on i dont know i could do 10000 laps round barford and i still wouldnt be able to drive it. Roll on Onchan if i still cant cut it there i guess i will heading back down to red for a while :D

No worries - the race is always going to be a little more heated due to what is to play for. I didnt actually realise how hard the hit was until I watched it on the replay

I enjoyed the race -it was something different to race for and something different to think about. Loved the concept and enjoyed the race, so no worries here Robin.

I have officially lost what ever small amount of marbles I have left  Didn't see owt on MI or Semi Grids thread so checked the rules on the website and was sure I asked in the server to double check but doesn't look like I was paying attention as I still had Stoxkarts on the brains! Damn that Ian Higgins!!! If I'd have known it was top 10 I would have...well, done nowt else cos I wasn't bloody fast enough! :banghead2::rofl:

Least I can bring this to the attention of admin anyway, save confusing me next year lol :scared15: Bring on the Consi Semi PARP PARP!

The top 9 finishers from each Semi Final will form the World Final grid along with the top 2 from the up to 18 car Consolation Semi Final (open to all starters of the Semi Finals who finished outside the top 9) will form the 20 car World Final grid, to be raced over 25 laps.
