For any of you online racers who thought this time of the season was just for winding down and going through the motions, think again!

Commencing at Bradford Tarmac in two nights' time, is Thursday Night Thunder - a brand new series which will ensure everyone taking part in regular 2010 UK-Dirt F1 meetings an extra two races each, per meeting. Upon conclusion of each included meeting's Grand National(s), focus will turn to this uniquely-gridded series, which will run over 11 of the remaining 2010 season dates. Grids will be drawn totally at random and announced live, with drivers' positions then being reversed for their second series race each night - so a driver who bags pole position for his first TNT race will be going from the very back of the grid, only a handful of minutes later.

Drivers will take to the grid starting in blocks of 6 from the front, with only a few car lengths' breathing space in between each block, in order to make sure those starting at the back are by no means out've touch through distance alone. Races in this series will run over 16 laps, in floodlit darkness, all apart from the Buxton fixture where apparently animal rights activists have put a block on us being so close to the plentiful stock of sheep in such covert conditions. No word on who or what exactly has fuelled these concerns, so feel free to draw your own conclusions! For the Buxton date, therefore, we may have to settle for 'dusk'!

At each given fixture, if the turnout of drivers is less than or equal to the track capacity limit, there will be two TNT series races - any more than the track limit and a 2/3rds system will be employed meaning three races.

Thursday Night Thunder, after its inaugural rounds at Bradford Tarmac 2nd September, will move to a one-off Wednesday billing, as part of the first day of the Coventry World Final event - and will then feature every Thursday up to and including Coventry 18th November, with the exception of the World Final and British Championship meetings.

Any race wins gained in this series will count towards a driver's official UK-Dirt F1 win statistics. Points scored for the series will not count towards F1 National Points or Career Points, but will be accumulated week-on-week for the series until its end, in the format: 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.

Prizes will be awarded to 4 online racers in total at the conclusion of the Thursday Night Thunder series. There will be two series points charts running throughout - the first of which being a simple cumulative overall points total open to all drivers competing. The second will be for the Top Trier Award - this will be run on a points multiplication basis for white, yellow and blue graded drivers as per the regular F1 gradings - whites will receive 2x points per race with yellows and blues receiving 1.5x and 1x respectively, and the prize is open to any drivers holding these grades upon series completion.

The prize structure will be as follows:

Overall Series Winner - voucher for StockCar/Banger racing DVD/Blu-ray(s) up to the value of £26 total

Overall Series Runner-Up - voucher for StockCar/Banger racing DVD up to the value of £15

Top Trier Award Winner - voucher for StockCar/Banger racing DVD/Blu-ray(s) up to the value of £26 total

Top Trier Award Runner-Up - voucher for StockCar/Banger racing DVD up to the value of £15

In the event of white, yellow or blue graded driver(s) being 1st and/or 2nd in the overall series points chart, the Top Trier prize(s) will be given to those who are next in line according to the Top Trier multiplication points table, in other words each competitor can only receive one of the four prizes on offer.

On behalf of the UK-Dirt F1 Admin team (with a big thumbs up going to Jarry for the poster), I welcome all racers to this series and look forward to seeing you take part in what should be an unpredictable and exciting addition to our meetings up to season's end,

Thanks,

Corny
