WINTER SERIES: Northampton Results

Hello All,

 

Thanks to everyone who raced at tonight's meeting. I once again thought that the racing was superb even if the attendance was a little less than expected.

 

Cngratulations to TomD for winning the meeting final, which made sure that he won the WINTER SERIES POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP for the second year on the trot. Comisserations to Dode who tried hard, but could not quite match the World Champion.

 

That left us with the Winter Series Shootout to round off the Winter Series, and there is once again a new name on this trophy. Congratulations to Aub for winning this race, over 25 hectic laps at Northampton.

Very pleased and shocked if im honest that i done so well over the winter series, proper pleased to get 2nd in the points, just couldnt match the pace and skill of tom. Hope to be up at red for start of season after going so well in winter series.

 

Well done to Tom on points and final and well done to Aub for winning Winter series shootout!

It's been good to blow the cobwebs away these past two weeks after having done nothing since September - cheers Johno and all who stewarded.

 

Not sure whether you mean you aim to get up to red, Dode, or whether you expect to be up to red on the basis of your winter performance, however all grades are based on full season meetings only.

 

Final was a good'un tonight, unfortunately with about 5 to go when I felt confident of being at least in with a shout for the win, I felt a worrying movement of my steering wheel as if it was about to come away from its mounting - never a good feeling so time I screwed it in properly rather than rely on these plastic screw things! It's happened twice in races now and that's more than enough.

 

Well done Tom and Dode for putting the effort in and staying in the running for the series.

What a difference 12months make...this time last year I was causing havoc with numerous spins in traffic and now I find myself winning a race from blue AND being able to spin out the way of the traffic lmao. Superb fun last night lads...the Winter Series Shootout being a particular highlight despite the finish outside the top 10...it was worth it thanks to some stonking hits between myself, Trav and Spike for most of the race, epic stuff. Enjoyed top races all night with almost everyone (the battle with Johno and Corny in a heat was hard going, as well as just managing to avoid Tom's last bend lunge for the Heat 2 win). Well done Aub and Tom, they both take some beating on this track...roll on the World Final.
