2012 Fixture Highlights

March

The 2012 season starts with the traditional Kings Lynn World Qualifying Round on the 5th of March, followed by visits to the tracks voted best overall and best shale in 2011.

April

The third World Qualifying Round of 2012 sees us visit the ultra fast shale track in sheffield, and includes qualifying rounds at Coventry, Hednesford, and Crimond so there are lots of chances to get scores on the board early. On top of that we crown our first champion of the season at the European Masters, held on the unique track at Ter Apel

May

Two more World Qualifying Rounds in May promise plenty of action, but most drivers will be eying the British Championship that will be held on the difficult Cowdenbeath Racewall that promises to throw up some big crashes and possibly a surprise winner.

June

June kicks off with our first double header of the season at Nutts Corner, and will see championships handed out on both days with the Green and white chequers handed out on the Sunday, before the F2 nationals on the Monday. World Champion TomD took both of these titles in 2011 before going on to gold so I am sure there will be plenty of drivers trying to emulate him. From Ireland we move on to the Scottish championship at Knockhill and Cowdenbeath via the always entertaining World Qualifying Round at Birmingham wheels and finish at belle Vue with yet another World Qualifying round, this promises to be a barn storming month and one not to be missed.

July

How do we follow that up, well with the UKOpen and the European championship of course two of the most hotly contested meetings of the year. Add to that three World Qualifying Rounds, including rounds at the Semi Final venue (Buxton) and more importantly the venue of this year’s World Final (Barford) where track time can prove all important.

August

Not only do we make our one visit to both the small tight confines of Taunton and the high speed wide open Leystad, for the English open and Golden Helmet respectively this month but the countdown to the World Championship continues with the semi-finals at high edge raceway Buxton. The good, the bad, and the ugly will be trying to secure their place on this year’s world final grid and this is always a meeting not to be missed.

September

The month starts with the TT championship on the isle of man and ends with the first round of the F2 2012 shootout. However there is the small matter of the World Championship meeting which for the third year running will be held over two days on the 16th and 17th. The consi-semi will be held on the Sunday night, before the big race kicks of the Monday meeting and with the small, narrow track at Barford nobody would be surprised to see a less fancied driver walk away with the title.

October

October sees another splash of gold on offer as the World Cup returns to UKDirt after a year’s absence, and it returns to the shale of sexberium. We also hope to make a first visit to Bristol if work can be completed on time for the Grand national championship, while the W&Y, Central Series and shootout championships all offer points to move up the grid in those finals.

November

3 meeting and 5 championships up for grabs including the National points title. We start at the 2011 World Final venue of Kings Lynn where the gold handed out this season will be two stripes for the world of shale championship. We then move on to Hednesford for the central series Semi Final before the final meeting of the season where no less that 3 championship finals will be held. First on track will be the Whites and Yellows final, followed by the Central Series final. A normal meeting will then decide the final grid for the shootout finale that will be the final race of the season.

It promises to be another crackerjack year so what are you waiting for, get booked in for the first meeting NOW

Good looking fixture list and ill give 1 a go and see if my dongle is good enough but doubt it. The only fixture i think might be a bit wrong is the cons semi final on a sunday which happens to be the same weekend as the real f1 wf

lots of peps make a weekend of it esp our dutch freinds so you could be missing a fair few

i have uploaded a new poster above, it shows 2 cancelled meetings (2 sunday meetings) we have chose to do this due to the fact they are on days of real meetings (as trav posted above) and we would asume that most people will be away at these meetings so would be unable to race thus making booking numbers very low and pointless the new proposed formats for these 2 meetings are below:

THE EUROS WILL NOW RUN LIKE THIS (Monday 16th July)

1st race lcq race

2nd race euro race

then a normal meeting

AND WORLD FINAL NIGHT WILL RUN LIKE THIS (Monday 17th September)

1st race consi semi

2nd race world final

then normal meeting

cheers f2 admin
