Not surprised you won it again if I'm honest, was hoping to do abit better in the british since a few of us ended up battling for places instead of racing round together to catch up the front but after having the car broken early in the race and basically fighting it round I'm glad to get 7th and quite a few points! Mav Posted June 22, 2012 Report Share Posted June 22, 2012 As several of the yellows were ex Star drivers, I had no illusions that I was going to do well. Yet the longer practice went on, once my frustration with Lithgow had been blown away , I managed to change my setup for the better and was very happy with my laps. Only thing was, I hadn't factored in the bad luck I always seem to attract!!!! W&Y's, hit a recovering car and lost a lap, Heat 1 was possibly the best race I have had ever at Coventry and drove well to a great 6th place. More of the same I thought, but in every race that followed did I get drawn into a racing incident and end up facing the wrong way, and last. Made it back to 12th, 13th, 13th & 14th, but alas no points! Twice I finished by reversing over the line!!!! B Final I led, but glory hunter Chevykiller stole my win, which would have put me on par with Big Al and would have also made up somewhat for a VERY disappointing evening Well Done Dan on retaining the title Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Felt like I was going backwards when you went by, couldn't believe I was a lap down after such a short while, I thought I was keeping up with the pace quite well too ! southy277 Posted June 22, 2012 Report Share Posted June 22, 2012 WD Dan on your title defence. I watched the replay, some great pressure by Bailey. For me the night was mixed, won 2 heats but found, like Dode, there was too many people battling for non points positions instead of helping catch up with the leaders. There were a few people who i won't name who loved to push into the back end of numerous cars to spin them. Al got this in one of the heats twice by the same driver aswell as a bad rejoin. jakie33 Posted June 22, 2012 Report Share Posted June 22, 2012 wd dan on your win for me the races were better then they have been , had a set to with my wheel and seat postion, it felt like i was starting up all over again felt out of place in practice but keep trying things out , had some good battles ,fast boys also came around me clean which i thank them for !!!! don t like being white but ive not been getting the points , but i also think my car still has not got the pace so ill kept trying things, over all enjoyed the meeting Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
big al 515 Posted June 22, 2012 Report Share Posted June 22, 2012 This was a tough night, I can't seem to master a fast line round this place, compared to everyone else. At most meetings I feel a lot quicker by the GN than at the start of the meeting, but don't think this was the case last night (especially as there was no GN ) . Well done to Dan, glad to see him retain his title, the black and white roof wouldn't look right on anyone else. Unlucky Mav - it isn't easy to win a B Final, only real quality drivers achieve it - keep trying m8, you might manage it one day I had a couple of highlights of the night, one was a good battle with Stumpy in the second half of a race, even though there were no points on it (not sure he agreed as he stubbornly refused to acknowledge my congratulations, either that or he'd pulled his keyboard out of the USB The other was Matty trying to pass me 'nicely' when I was in 10th, he was just getting me on the last lap when Tom fired in on us both, drag race to the line and it was Tom-Matty-Al...so just missed the top 10, ouch Good fun though... I know what you mean Southy and which car you were on about - seemed determined to spin me even though noone else near, TWICE lol....but he left me alone in a later heat so I figured he didn't mean any harm Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
