This Thursday has us taking to the track at Kings Lynn to contest the fifth Shootout round, but perhaps more importantly the World of Shale!

Drivers have amassed points from six qualifying rounds over the 2012 season starting back in March at Belle Vue and concluding just a fortnight ago at Sheffield. For each round raced drivers scores have been put through a multiplication system (white x2.5, yellow x2, blue x1.5 & red/ss x1).

The grid will be formed from the first 22 available drivers on the day, with the highest points scorer on pole.

The race will be 20 laps in length, and will run before the meeting and be non-point scoring. (A normal meeting format will follow).

Grid based on top 22 drivers:

112 - 262

236 - 151

300 - 292

39 - 238

184 - 291

277 - 315

65 - 560

527 - 254

98 - 600

305 - 525

221 - 21

Reserves in order:

516, 33, 391, 249, 129, 122, 48, 255, 92, 107, 137, 3, 115, 41, 172, 233, 380, 67, 237, 515, 90, 87, 31, 419, 338, 152, 504, 517, 235, 16, 550, 450, 341, 365, 437, 488

So it's not the biggest surprise to see TomD well clear to take the pole position, but there has been an excellent set of performances from Harmen to get onto the front row - made even more impressive given he has raced at one less qualifying round that those drivers around him! Dodge has driven himself into a good grid position on the second row while Matty and Marco have taken advantage of their multipliers to take over the third row.

The Sheffield qualifying round final winner Ali P qualifies in the middle of the pack, whilst the Sexbierum qualifying round final winner Corny has faired a little worse - not making the top 22.

TomD was the 2009 champion so has a chance to regain the title on Thursday, Mike took the title in 2010 but serves the last week of his ban so will miss this opportunity. Jack was the 2011 champion and as it stands he has not qualified for the race (there is no provision to seed defending champ into the grid). However as he sits in a relatively healthy position on the reserves list it is quite likely that he could be a part of the race.

Good luck to all participants! :king:
