Hi lads

I have a Duron 850 processor with an Nvidia Geforce2 MX 32mb graphics card.

I have been offered someone's Nvidia GeforceFX 5200 128mb graphics card.

Does anyone know if this would be compatible with my processor or how do I find out?

Presumably the 5200 card is a fair bit better card than the Geforce2MX?

Al- check if your PC has an AGP slot for the graphics card- PCI was still a popular choice around the Geforce 2 era. Does your PC have a manual showing the motherboard info?

5200s are £25-£30 brand new.

Hi John

Yes I have a manual for the motherboard which I just dug out.

The motherboard is ISUS A7V-E WITH VIA Apollo KT133 cHIPSET.

It has 6 PCI slots.

It also has 1 AGP Slot. Is that the one where the GEForce 5200 would need to go then?

Incidentally, my mate is updating his pc and he says I can have the 5200 for free once he puts the replacement graphics card in his.
