Anyway to check if you have java applications enabled, go to 'tools' in an internet window up the top, 'internet options' and select the 'security' tab. Click once on the internet(Picture of the world!) and select 'custom level' at the bottom. Scroll down until you find 'java permissions' and select 'high safety'. Also scroll down until you find 'scripting of java applets' and select enable. Click OK on that window and apply on the other one.
