Setting up your Steering Wheel: Hints/Tips
The London Allstar replied to Johno3's topic in F1 (rFactor)
I'd also like to try and re setup my wheel, as i'm sure that i could get more out of it. As i said preveiously further up in the thread i have my wheel so that the centering spring is set low (takes about 1 second to go from 90 dgrees of lock back to the centre). I think my pedals are fine, got the sensitivity on 50% and then throttle rate to 20% Using a logitech formula force ex -
Problem is Stig, the joke failed more epicly at life than a 15 year old mother who didn't use contraception whilst having sex in the corridors at school who's living in a council flat after her family had disowned her and then had the baby taken away by social services

lmao!

Stil got the bumpers on. Nothing wrong with the tempalte we've already got...
-
Yeah, it was actually

I tweaked a few things on the default setup and used that all last night, it wasn't fast but i found it consistent and very easy to slide. Tried a few shale tracks in the last hour or so hopefing that a decent setup (ie the improved default) will help me, and it has a little, still alot of practice needed though.
-
Got to agree with g-man (something goign seriously wrong here) Standlake is certainly unique, it may be a crap hole but the track istself is great. Raced a sunny there on a very soggy day and have great fun wheel spinning it through 1st and 2nd and jsut giving it full lock roudn the corners with it full chat jsut spinnign the wheels up. Would love to have a go there in somin rwd.

Your right, they didnt improve all of the default setups with the release of 1.2, what i do now is start by doing 20 laps with the default setup and the tweak it to suit, although i still end up being 0.2/0.3 or more off the pace at every track!

Having just got home from work and cooled off a bit, i re watched the replay of last nights GN and do agree with what kruiz has said to an extent. However i still don't think the hit was fair, but like has been said as it was the last bend and had the oppourtunity of getting the win as a result i can see why you did it matthew. I didnt think this sort of thing happened on the ukdirt F1's but then again it's next to never that im leading going into the last bend anyway to experience it. Like i said earlier, to become competative it seems i'm going to have to re think my approach to racing, i've always said to myself as a rule that if i hit some hard enough to make them hit the wall at speed then it's too hard, if they hit the wall but can get thier speed down enough to bounce off it and carry on without loosing too much time then its ok. When i'm racing i treat most of the people on the grid with respect, as i feel if you have a good clean race with them, they will return the favour and in msot cases thats correct, however there is always an exception lol. I'l admit in my rage last night i did send in a complaint about it, but i'l think il withdraw it and put this behind. Sorry matthew for loosing it a bit last night, but well as you said "i worked bloody hard to get up into 3rd" as did myself and Dave to keep ahead of the pack for the whole race
-
Looks like im going to have to change my driving style then, obviously using the brake isnt advised!
-
Look where you did back off, just as you hit dave over his left rear... making no difference to the speed at which you hit him
-
lmao fair enough. Only went on that judging by the wheels, as ive got all the free league mods and have never seen them things before :/

Thankyou for the meeting tonight johno, i enjoyed most of it, there were just a few incident from people a lap down hiting after going past. I completely lost my temper with it as in both cases it cost me a potential top 3 finish. The grand national was a great race with me and Dave battling hard to get that break from the pack and keep it, and in all honestly i thought it was going to be down to the last corner between myself and Dave for the win. The last two laps i was really struggling with the tyres as i had punished them hard early on and thought dave was going to tap me just enough to get through on the inside, instead we were both e-killed Oh well see you at cowdie.
-
Yeah, we both took our normal lines because there was a good gap there and we wernt expecting a car to come flatout across the kerbs at us! I was expecting a punt from dave and left the braking as late as i could which caused me to get sideways, but i wasnt expecting to get nailed like in bangers :/

Is that a joke?

l m f a o its called a render...

Alright lads, i took some pictures that are suitible for modelling at standlake on sunday, all of them are named so that you know what they are. most of them are not full sets, however hopefully anyone looking for pictures to complete a set they have will find them usefull and be able to create a model from them. I have already sent a copy to a few people including NickM, mainly for modelling for rfactor and BRTG. However many of the pictures will be suitible for makign heat models with by following Nick's tutorial on his site. Many thanks to James Rushton for getting me the vole240 pics and the mk1 granny pics, both of which you can download. The pictures can be downloaded from here: http://hosted.filefront.com/Allstar500 Hopefully this should als oshow people the sort of pictures needed for modelling. For all of the pictures i have crouched down, and made sure that the tops of the doors line up on both sides and that the two b pillars line up, this should give a good square on image.

Good meeting yesterday and Courty seemedto be going ok, certainly had it sideways most of the time anyway! Didnt manage to find a single person from ukdirt during the whole time i was there, although everyone looked the same with a high viz hoodie / bobble hat lol

The front wheels still go round whilst drifting...
