Too be honest I don't think the vertex damage in NASCAR Heat is all that great. SOD is much better even if it can be a little funny at times as to whether or not a hit does anything.

I was a bit skeptical about this taking over from Nascar HEAT but now I built myself a beasty new PC: AMD Athlon 3200+ 2.0Ghz, overclocked at 2.4Ghz ATI Radeon Sapphire X1600 PRO 512MB PCI-E CRUCIAL 1GB DDR PC3200 400MHz RAM Asus A8R-MVP Skt939 Xpress 200 crossfire PCI-E SATA ATX Motherboard I say bring it on I don't know if this has been said before and going through all the posts to find out but what will the damage physics be like in this game? Will they be anything like SOD? (Yes I'm able to play it on me new PC ) SOD damage physics are cool but can be very random and glitchy. Like sometimes I can be doing 5MPH into the back of a car and the back end all starts to fall off and crumple yet when I hit it a speeds over 100MPH it most of the time does very little noticeable or nothing

I would say I'm all for this but I'm not. If everybody here had a decent connection and beasty PC's then fare play but thats not the case. I myself have a good 4MB broadband connection but then its lagged behind quite a bit with my crappy 6 year old PC so I'm in the list who would suffer and makes others suffer online with such a thing turned on in the game. I think the whole reason the UKDirt mods are based on a game made back in 2000 is to give allot of people a chance at playing it. Its defiantly given me that chance even if its all on low spec and have a slow FPS when over 10 cars are on track A great idea and would love to have it happen but it would ruin online play unfortunately. And I'm not blaming people for having FILTERED connections and/or crappy PC's, this is the UK and we have always been done over when it comes to computers/internet whereas countries like USA and that get super fast stuff While were on the subject about PC's, my new PC should come today so finally I should soon be in the fast(er) lane Well it better bloody come today cause I had to take the day off for it

Yea along side End it all, Task Manager is my best friend. It can shut down a few things End it all can't and vise versa so they make the perfect team. And I feel sorry for you guys having these problems when I have a PC over 6 years old struggling like hell to get around even the internet but plays the game fine on lowish settings with a low but steady FPS I guess thats just good ol AMD for ya. But hopefully on monday I will have my new PC in parts that I'm going to build

Yea I been completely deleting everything and all the files left behind after each un-install. But I have actually got it working now and tested F2 and Bangers and they work fine so my bro will be joining the league shortly I'll explain below what I did and what I think the problem was: The multipatch_nocd.exe didn't like being installed into the Nascar HEAT directory for some strange reason and so I just installed it somewhere else and copied the files over. Now instead of the options.def not wroking, it was now saying it didn't have some language file so I sent him english.lng from my computer via MSN and vola! Nascar HEAT was working fine. Like I said I tried F2 and Banger mods and they work perfect so I don't see why it wont crap up anymore from now on

Right I re-installed Nascar HEAT but then it wouldnt even load and play Nascar HEAT saying it cant load options.def, I've installed it clean like 10 times now and its still doing it. Just seems to be getting worse

My bruv has just got his new laptop (helluva lot better than my PC) and I have installed Nascar HEAT and the banger mods all in order and properly. But for some reason when I load the Banger shortcut on the desktop it just runs Nascar HEAT and won't load the mod. I know I've done it all correctly as said on the site so I don't know why its not working Can anyone help?

I would do that but my PGR3 is busted, keeps crashing The game was too rushed and not had all its bugs and glitches ironed out properly. Anyway I prefer PGR2 allot more, but its not back-wards compatible funnily enough

ps2 = pure trash! But anyway I will tell ya how to get it online even if its online service is terribly poor. This first method applies if you have a normal ps2. If you have a normal ps2 then you need to buy a broadband adaptor that are getting more expensive and rarer all the time (bout 50 quid+ atm) and with that you get the CD to install it all. All you need then is an Ethernet cable to connect to ya modem, router etc. The second method is if you have a ps2 slim. The ps2 slim has a built in broadband modem so all you need there is just a Ethernet cable (I think the installation CD would come with the console?). There is also another way to do it through USB, a guy I knew at college told me he does it that way. I don't know how to connect this way but I'm sure you could proly find out easily enough on Google.

I'm sticking with my cable modem and Ethernet cables until something concrete comes out for wireless. Its just too experimental atm. BTW, Download limits are a pest and thats why I have gone with NTL 4MB Broadband, no limits what-so-ever.

Yea someone is making it but I cant remember who I'm bloody looking forward to it as I consider Matchams (Ringwood Raceway) as my home track even though Arena Essex really is my home track

My PC is pretty old and only had a 56k phone line connection card in it but I took that out and replaced it with a Safecom Ethernet Lan Card which I picked up off ebay for a fiver and it works great I'm on a 4mb connection too and most of the time when I'm in a meeting/online practise I got one bro online on his PC then the other playing on xbox live and I hardly ever get warp. The only times I do get proper warp is if one of them is running a net connection hungry program for example something like Limewire. So you should be fine as long as there not on anything like Limewire but then again you said youres is wireless whereas mine is all Ethernet cables so it maybe slightly better or worse.

That don't work and you cant have the cars as the same name anyway can you? Cause 3Ds max wont let me have cars with the same names.

Hey Nick just in case you didn't get my pm I made this topic like you originally said. Anyway I did what you said and used one of the material slots to put the skin on one of my cars. Then I selected the next car to apply a different skin to that using the same material slot but when I put that skin on the new selected car, the old car got that new skin as well even though its not selected so I dunno whats going on there
