  1. aye ye only won cause sparky parked his car in the middle of the road, :banghead2:

    i was well clear :king:

Aye i noticed, he made me watch the replay, wrong place wrong time.

I was coming to get you Tosh! :D.

You got going again and would have finished higher up if you hadn't attacked the tyres lol.

  2. Skinner back to yellow ooohoooo!

Well done Allan for the final and Bristolstokie for a consistent night to top score.

Thanks lads, i've had pretty dire luck as far as finals have gone lately so i was really pleased to get through the pack last night.

I wasn't confident last night as i found it really difficult to get the car setup round there and one mistake and you were in a tyre.

I think Evnos deserves a lot of credit, great points haul and good driving all night, well done. Also well done to bristolstoke for top scoring.

  3. 14.0 is the best i can get. think it will be more about avoiding the tyres and the carnage from the people that have hit them though.

Same, had a quick blast and done a 14.0 but i was getting mighty close to the tyres, i think it will be more consistency.

  4. Really enjoyed the meeting, it's the most pace i've had on tar.

I had a great run of heats but apart from my final win, i've had no luck in finals. Started on the outside, had a horrendous start then got a bad bounce and spub. Worked my way from 21st to 12th, gutting.

  6. Yeah more damage would be great.

I feel a bit annoyed that some people imagine we just bodged these mods together, releasing stuff as soon as we had got it working in any way. We actually spent just as much time working on the contact and damage as we did on the physics and models of the cars.

There are lots of things in rfactor that we have very little or no control of, damage being one of them.

Believe me when I say that me and all the other UKSOM members have spent many hours trying to think of a way to stop the idiots that can't drive without using the bumper every bend! :banghead2:

And a very good job you lads have done.

I don't race F1's but speaking from the F2's, your adding a lot more power to a car with a lot more pushing power. If someone goes kamikaze in tooz it's bad enough, i can imagine what the 1's must be like.

What's the story with RF2, presumably the mods are all backwards compatible with possibly added scope for modification?

  7. I have just bought a cheap £10 headset from tesco.... Technika TKHC 211 its got 2 audio jacks on it (green and pink) one is obv for headphones and other for mic so i plug them both into the slots but my pc or teamspeak doesnt seem to pick up that i am speaking in the mic?

Any ideas would be nice thankyouuu :D

    You have pm.

  8. Mr Cowie is on to Stoke. Are there any current UK shale tracks that have not been made already? Can't think of any. A couple of Dutch shale tracks have been suggested to me but UK tracks would interest me more for now.

I can't think of UK shale either, however if your talking Dutch shale, Sint Maarten without a doubt with the ditches. If you end up in a ditch, well thats game over eh. Used to like it in heat.

That along with Newtongrange was one of my favourite tracks. It's a shame there isn't more shale because the shale is absolutely awesome.

  9. Oh yea, just putting it out that we did get into discussing having it fixed.

Be great to have it fixed, i enjoyed the 25 laps i had round it, could see it being an extremely hard nights racing though.

  10. Due to the issues with the walls down the straights at Taunton, we have decided to change the venue for next week’s meeting to WESTWORLD.

The track is available in the downloads section of the website, and this will not affect the meetings English Championship status.

We hop to see you all there.

Aww, Taunton was awesome when i had a shot, get the walls fixed!

We have tried getting the creator to fix it but no joy. He has other committments at the moment. Sorry.

It was tongue in cheek mate, i didn't expect a fix at my request ;).

  12. Now for the next frustrating installment in my quest for an acceptable framerate in the F1 mod! Ive bought an nVidia GTX 295 (second hand off eBay) to replace the 8800GT i was struggling with (see earlier posts). For those not familiar with this beast of a card it is essentially 2 cards strapped together & by all accounts should make rFactor fly with all the graphics settings set to max. Ahem. :banghead2: I installed the card, when i boot up my PC i hear a series of beeps, my monitor stays blank & a red LED on the back of the GTX 295 comes on nextt to the DVI -D connector for the monitor. The card itself has two connecting slots for the power cable, an 8 pin & a 6 pin. My power supply unit is a Jeantech 700W 12v rail type & so should have plenty of juice to power the GTX 295. I have the six pin connector in the card at present as I dont have an 8 pin block to the PSU. After several fruitless attempts to get the card working I replaced the old 8800GT & my PC then boots into windows as usual with no issues.

Any ideas? I was wondering if 1) The GTX 295 has been fried due to overclocking

    2) The GTX 295 is a DX 10 only card (I use DX 9 & Windows XP as I cant install windows Vista or Win 7)

    3) Its a driver issue. I have the latest nVidia drivers installed v301.42. Should I do a clean uninstall of the drivers before inserting the GTX 295 into the PCI slot on the mainboard?

    4) The card is such a power hungry beast that both the 6 & 8 pin connector should be in, & can you get 6 to 8 pin converters?

    Any suggestions welcome please

You can't power a card with a 6 and 6. The rails give out different voltages. You need one of these:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PCI-E-6-to-8-Pin...=item3f159443e2

    or

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Molex-4-to-8-pin...=item5d347f93ce

  13. Graphics cards now use pci-e slots but think I read that your dell only has pci slots (if any)which was an older technology (think they were agp before pci). If you do have a free pci slot you might be able to find a pci card for sale on ebay but I haven't checked if there are any still around. They will not be very powerful cards but might run Dx9?

PCI cards were before AGP so you definitely won't find a PCI card that will run DX9, at least i would be very surprised.
