  1. Yeah you are right Grasser, Windows Messenger is whats causing the problem not MSN as I first through. My mistake.

I checked the start up boxes and they are un-ticked as are the MSN as instructed before.

I dont use Windows Messenger as I have MSN so I could just delte it couldnt I?

Just tried playing the game again but WM starts up about the same time you start a race, I came out of the game and closed it in task manager and went to play again - repeat 4 times!!  3.gif

Try having a look Here it has a link to a program which should disable Windows Messenger.

  2. Cod just sent me the email and i looked at the message on the Yahoo group, its just a messgae from Spike to keep the group going. The link doesnt work anyway it comes up with

    We're Sorry...

There was a problem with your request.

The page you've requested returned this error:

    [twister.c:145] This page is empty

It looks like a link which Yahoo tags onto all its email messages which come direct from the message group.

  3. Never seen a crash log like that before.

Try putting all graphics options to minimum in the game, and try unplugging the PS2 adaptor- just to check- I have heard of people getting lock ups with these PSX-USB things from time to time.

Yeah i had the same with a PS2 adaptor and couldnt work out what it was as it was only doing it on certain mods, then i realised that i didnt have the force feedback setting on in all the mods so i turned it off for all the mods and it worked fine since.  shrug.gif.

  4. Had a quick search around and it seens a problem with Windows SP2 might be the cause of the problem. The info on it can be found Here if you cant access this, below is what it says.

If you have installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 and are experiencing any of the following symptoms, this bug is affecting your system.

After installing Windows XP SP2, your network connection reports a problem with "Limited or No Connectivity"

You have trouble connecting to the Internet or your local area network after installing Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Your network connection gets stuck "Acquiring IP Address"

If you are receiving this error, you should run the Microsoft patch (KB884020) for it. Follow the instructions below to do this. Alternatively, you can download a zip file with the patch, registry file, and instructions by clicking here.

    1) Download the patch from Microsoft's site

    2) Run the update to install it

    3) Run this short Registry fix to complete the update. Type the following lines in Notepad and save the file as FixReg.reg on your desktop, then double click on it to install into your registry.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\IPSec]

    "AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule"=dword:00000002

    4) Reboot your computer

If you experience the error message again, reboot your computer first. In most cases this will solve many connectivity issues that are not associated with this SP2 bug.

Hope this solves the problem, if not i havnt got a clue as to what else is causing this.

  5. Just noticed that today my internet connection has gone from 576Kbps to 2.2Mbps

I think i've been with them about a a year now and i'm guessing its a free upgrade from BT or is there a catch?!

    Cheers

Yes they are currently doing Free Upgrades for all the current BT Broadband users, ive been waiting for mine to get upgraded but still at the old 576kbps, they have said that everyone should be upgraded within a certain amount of time but i cant remember what that time scale was, more info on this can be found Here

  6. I have the same problem Nick they all work when NAV is turned off, but not when it is on.

I tried doing what Cunny has said to do but it doesnt seem to make any difference. Hopefully someone will know how to try and sort this out because it is getting annoying now shrug.gif

  7. Hi,

I am having trouble with downloading some of the attahcments off this forum. The download only lasts 1 second and is a 0kb file, which is obviously incorrect.

I have been able to download some of the smaller files but like 260 kb but anything bigger doesnt seem to download properly.

I have cleared my temp internet files and cookies, done a full system scan and run adaware and it still hasnt come up with anything, i added this site to my NAV trusted sites list aswell to make sure it wasnt that but it still doesnt work.

Btw one of the attachments im was trying to get was the correct speakt chassis from Dragons post which everyone else seems to be able to be ok, so its gotta be my pc.

    Any Ideas? unsure.gif
