  2. An update from the nice people at Elite Racing Transmissions. The gearlevel is NOT spring-loaded to return to the central position after being released when it's shifted to first or second. There's a positive lock to hold the lever in any of the three positions ( 1 - N - 2 ) To use reverse gear the main lever MUST first be in neutral. The reverse level also locks into it's two positions. To go back to using the forward gears, the reverse lever MUST be returned to the neutral position.
  3. Not sure this is of any interest to anyone but on the RaceDepartment forums a new version of the RealFeel plugin has been uploaded. The version I downloaded a while back was 9.3.6 dated 20th June 2011 The version I have attached here is 9.3.8 dated 18th October 2011. However, there are no details that I can see for what has been changed. RealFeel101612.rar
  4. Can anyone advise me if "in real life" on a Doug Nash ( or equivalent ) gearbox the gearlever returns to centre when first and second gears are engaged or does it stay in the forward ( 1st ) or backward ( 2nd ) position? Also how does the reverse gear lever work? Does the gearbox have to be in neutral to engage reverse or does pulling on the lever to engage reverse "pop" the forward gears into neutral? You must select a foward gear after coming out of reverse? And does it lock into reverse position or "spring" returns back to the normal running position? Or does it override the forward gears? Pull on reverse and it disengages forward and then re-engages forward when released? See attached images
  5. I use three screens but rfactor sees them as one big screen through the Nvidia software; so I get a single 5760 x 1080 screen. The side screens are at 135 deg ( or 45 deg ). I will confess that they are only small screens (21.5") as that's what I had lying around. At some point I'll upgrade to bigger ones but only when one stops working. Currently not as much free time as I'd like so spending £500-£600+ on screens isn't important to me
  6. Interesting question. I have a G29 which I got back in 2020 - height of COVID. Not upgraded the wheel base as such but changed the wheel for a GT3 style. Now have that and, using an adapter, the original wheel but with only a few buttons so I can swap over. For oval racing I can use the original wheel with bare bones buttons Intending to stick with that until it breaks... however have purchased a "better" set of pedals. Not sure what I would go for when that occurs. I suppose it all depends on the type of usage you are going want it for. A wheel covered with knobs and buttons is going to be overkill for oval racing, but seems to be the norm for many manufacturers. Fanatec list over 50 different wheels on their website but only seven wheelbases
  7. While looking around to create my skins I found the NVIDIA tools that allow you to drag and drop a PSD file and export as a DDS file. I was using GIMP for creating the DDS file but not for the actual painting process. As I didn't find anything on this forum I thought it might be useful for others. This tool will allow you to use any paint or drawing package that will export a PSD file. It's especially useful if you wish to use vector graphics software to design your skins rather than raster graphics so you don't get jagged lines, etc. Installer file is here NVIDIA_Texture_Tools_2023.3.2.exe DDS export configuration file here UK Dirt DDS Export.dpf
  8. Hopefully I have these correct. F2 756 Vehicle Skins.zip
  9. Hi FastTrack. Not sure if the attached are OK. I think I have covered everything but please let me know if I need to make changes. Are we supposed to create upgrade.ini files too? F1 756 Vehicle Files.zip
