OK many folk on reading this will dismiss it - please dont be so hastey. About 3 years ago (pre-new computer) the old 1 was so slow... so i came across "Hare" the windows accelerator. It checked out, wasnt spyware or usual mass of ads so downloaded the Demo and it made a noticable difference. Only cost me $15 at the time too. Happy days. After installing Heat back onto this PC, it was struggling to get 10 cars on track at 640x480 with settings low - thought what the heck dug out the Hare CD and installed it. Enabled the games mode - and WOW can now get 60+ fps 800x600 detial etc settings maxamum with a full grid of 43 cars!!!!! Also put the polygon rate (in heat) from 300 to 1800 just like that!!!!!!! And withought a driver update - unbelievable! You get a "20 starts" demo for free - if your PC is struggling with NH a bit or you just want to knock the settings a bit - try the demo I can assure there's no spyware/ads/trojans in it like 99% of "Windows Optimisers" out there. http://www.dachshundsoftware.com/index.html Let me know if it made a difference for you!

of course using that variation of FDISK that is in the XP installer, and there's only the 1 partition the C drive thats 37.8GB. I cant understand it, i've done this tons of times on this pc and many others, and never got this before - tho in saying that its only NH saying its low on space, other programs install fine, and it was windows surley i would get that annoying "you are running out of space" baloon

When I try to install NH on this (XP Pro) machine i'm told it needs 250mb to install and on the C drive there's only 150something mb so wont install, and i can comfirm there's 30odd GB on the C drive free as the pc was wiped the other day. Any ideas?

Start -> Run Type Services.msc press enter look for "messenger" in properties disable it, and set startup type to disabled. And there u go. Pete.
