  1. This then inevitably caused me to collide with other cars and either "tyre" them or just create problems for them like spinning.

So that explains how I came to find myself like this then Mav in Heat 6!!

I have to admit I was intrigued as to why you divebombed me "Stuka" style from the turn one bend, but thats racing! No problem with that, Scunthorpe is a tricky circuit & with no real opportunity to open the car up on the straights it made for some strange contact at times.

  2. Good reading again Mav, was refreshing to see some heavy points scored from white for a change.Having watched the 'A' Final replay I think you can consider yourself particularly unlucky on the last bender from Tom D. The way you bounce off the armco suggests that you would gain enough traction to win the drag race to the chequered, but the unpredictable nature of the physics in this mod's coding can sometimes lend an air of unpredictability. That's either its greatest strength or largest flaw depending on where you finish, & to come within an ace of your maiden 'A' final win must be especially hard to take as it could easily had a different outcome. I've been on the end of some desperate last bend lunges & managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory more than once, but it actually spurred me on to keep having a go to get that elusive win, in fact my 3 A final wins all came from yellow so its certainly possible to keep the blue & red train from catching given the right breaks & at the right track.

Overall a hugely positive meeting I thought, with some good, fast, clean sparring & it bodes well for the season to come...

  3. Reason I hate the situation is, you cannot get decent track time to test things out.

I think the only realistic remedy for this Paul is to practice online to tweak your setup before a meeting. In the server isnt ideal & the fencings are just part & parcel Im afraid of pre meetings....

UK Dirt Formula 1 Stockcar Tarmac Masters Final 2013.

This Thursday 17th October sees the F1's visit Hednesford Hills Raceway to contest the 2013 Tarmac Masters Championship. This superfast banked circuit situated near Cannock in the West Midlands will see UKDirts' fastest tarmac drivers battle it out for the second championship in consecutive weeks.

Pole Man & hot favourite Dan Skinner 236 averaged a healthy 52.6 average over this season's 10 qualifying rounds, & will be joined on the front row by Sije 129. Liam B 90 & Evnos 338 sit on row 2 looking to capitalise on any early carnage, & one or two names amongst the other qualifiers catch the eye, not least Tom Drabble 112 who would surely relish the win to add yet another title in 2013.Tsjalle 229 & Leighton H 40 also boast excellent averages of 40+ & cant be ruled out of creating an upset...

The meeting also represents the final opportunity to get some 2014 WCQR points on the board before the season draws to a close, so get booked in now for what promises to be an interesting meeting.Start time 8.20PM

  5. UK Dirt Formula 1 Stockcar 2013 World Of Shale Final

    WOSposter.jpg

This Thursday sees the mighty V8s roll into Coventry Speedway Stadium to contest the 2013 World Of Shale Final.Originating within the Startrax organisation, the WoS is designed to offer a shale based annual Championship to balance the tarmac only events such as the UK Open and European Championships.

From quiet beginnings, the event is rapidly growing in stature, with qualifying rounds held at all UK shale tracks, leading up to WOS Final, open to the top points scorers, and run in points order - highest scorer in pole position.

In reality the last three WoS finals have ended as follows:

2010 Coventry 391 Andrew Smith 4 Dan Johnson 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr

2011 Coventry 55 Craig Finnikin 197 Ryan Harrison 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr

2012 Coventry 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr 16 Matt Newson 4 Dan Johnson

In UKDirt Tom D has dominated since the event was introduced, taking the coveted title twice & being runner up once to Jack in 2011.

    2012 Tom D, #112 DanSkin, #236 Harmen, #262

    2011 Jack #249 TomD #112 Dode #151

    2010 Mike #315 Dazza #290 TomD #1

    2009 TomD #112 JK #16 R Johno #3 R

Tom D has to be favorite for the chequered again in 2013 as pole sitter having comfortably outqualified his nearest rivals with an average of 54.2 points over 10 qualifying meetings. However there are plenty of talented drivers making up the remainder of the grid who may have other ideas, & the Brandon oval usually sees some very competitive, keenly matched sideways racing. It’s not speed, aggression or strategy, but a combination of all three that will see the winner crowned "World of Shale" Champion 2013.

Get booked in & help make this a memorable meeting in Coventry Stadiums 60th year of hosting Formula 1 Stockcars.
