Might be a silly question but are you sure you are connected via the cable? Try turning you wireless faciltily on your laptop off and see whether you still have a connection.

I don't race rfactor (yet) so its not really my business, but the LEAGUE is UK Dirt, and its the people who make the league - and make it worth loading the game up 4/5 nights a week. Its not perfect by any means, but thats why we have admin and rules and bans. Rather than change a culture that is already (deeply embedded) here, perhaps you'd be better to create your own. This isn't meant as a dig or a sod off, just a statement of reality. This forum (and others) are full of debates about driving standards on DTSR, Heat, UK Dirt. I am not sure why you think rfactor would/ should be different? (I'd be interested to know). All the other leagues I am aware of have similar (or much worse) problems. The realism or beauty of the game is secondary to me (and I suspect more than a few others), I'd race a league with ZX81 graphics if it played alright, was organised well and was a good laugh. And I'd still be lap downed or taken out some nights. When in 15 years time we all have pods in the back garden to race in it will still happen, it depends whether you keep coming back. Alonso has been quoted today as saying he won't get the chance to win in Brazil, so whats the betting he just takes Hamilton out, thats if they let him qualify near enough to get a shot in. Why should he let; A) his rookie team mate and; B) The team that is gonna sack him, win the World title? By trying to gain extra revenue for having the championship go down to the wire, McLaren have shot themselves in the foot BIG TIME. On top of all this Massa aint too bad around there either. !!!

It was a clear case of Marketing ruling sport. There was no way this championship wasn't going to go to the wire. Did you see the sheepish Mclaren engineer being interviewed afterwards. They ballsed up big time, they were trying to leave him out just long enough for Alonso to get past and earn them BIG advertising money for the last race. I really want Hamilton to win it, but wouldn't it be hilarious if Alonso went on to win it and take the No.1 plate to Renault. But that wont happen because all they need to do is put some dodgy rubber on his car for a stint or get the fuel rig stuck, or, or , or.

Lee It must be the type of on board graphics chip used in your specifec model, as my 2 year old Inspiron 6400 with 'onboard graphics' ran R-factor (both trial and full version) albeit with the graphics options turned down. It might be worth contacting Dell Support to see if it is actually an upgradable chip or whether its the whole motherboard that would need changing. Have you tried downloading the latest drivers from Dell Support? Its very easy from their website. You just enter your tag number (on the base of the laptop) that is unique to your machine and a list of relevant downloads appear for you to choose from. Good luck

How is your moden connected to your PC? When I was upgraded to 8mb by Orange, (who now provide an excellent free service with my £30 a month mobile contract) I was using a USB connection that was doing exactly what you are stating. I changed to an ethernet cable and it cured it instantly, the problem apparantly was that the USB connection was overheating and once i re-connected it was fine again for a couple of hours.
