looks to me as tho you havent installed you graphics card drivers??? make sure you have the latest drivers installed

erm im not 100% sure if mine is the same i use photoshop cs8. right click your txt in the layers palete then blending options then drop shadow and you should see something similar to what is in my screen shot. settings should look similar to what i have in the screen shot but you can alter the distance and angle to suit wot you need. hope that helps you out
