  1. Thanks for running the meeting...what a bloody challenge the track was trying to do a lap yourself, never mind with a pack of blues and reds bearing down behind you! Really didn't expect to come away with anything tonight...struggled to get any sort of consistency in practice but the regrading defo helped for those early laps, and gave the whites and yellows time to settle doon and get into a rhythm before the bumpers arrived! The Final didn't get off to a great start...Spike was a bit too eager to get away and spun before the green flag, and the blues were on the scene in no time...after a few laps of sorting oot the inevitable happened...a pack caught up and sent me spinning, thankfully oot of harms way. Had a cracking battle with Fast Track towards the end of the race tho and thought we might sneak into the top 10 thanks to someone's last lap lunge ahead...as it happens, FT gets into the top 10 but doesn't make a space for me lol!!! GN was much the same as the Final...better start this time but got caught up with a couple of spinning cars throughout the race which sent me tumbling down the order. It might be only 1point scored but it was probably one of the most enjoyable and challenging tracks yet! Cya'll next time!
  2. Driver Award - Fast Track #527...winning two Finals is no easy thing from yellow with such a high calibre of similarly graded opposition such as Leek and Corny to name but two. Meeting Award - Ipswich 11/03/10...Only two meetings for me to choose from, enjoyed the challenge and significance of Buxton (return to official UK-Dirt league action) but the Final got a bit mental, whereas I really enjoyed some great battles at Ipswich, not just with the opposition but with the track aswell.
  3. Thanks for running the meeting admin, another great evening's racing Got a chuffty badge on today - was really struggling to find a rhythm around the track but eventually managed to post some consistent times with a setup that kept the car fairly balanced. Nae much luck in the heats - whacked a spun car in both of them but thanks to other people's misfortunate - and much to my surprise - slipping through to 9th in Heat 3 got me into the Final woop woop! Didn't expect to score in it either - starting from the front of the yellows is no exactly ideal when you've got the likes of Leek and Corny behind ya! Survived the first bend hit and thankfully the action seemed to happen behind me, and it left a bit of breathing space before any of the red tops began to appear...there was no point messing up my own race by getting involved in a battle I was never gonna win so latched onto the rear bumper of Tom and saw out the last few laps for a top 10. Likewise in the GN, once Harmen and JH broke free, I was never gonna keep up so again, just tried keeping up with the quick cars after they got past. The flishy flashy lights are getting ever closer...
  4. Great stuff
  5. Skeet #31 yellow pleez...should manage the heats at least
  6. Hope you are planning on doing the interview in the "Motorsport" mag "Lunch with Simon Taylor" stylee Johno
  7. Never realised Harmen H262 was a member of the Dutch Air Force...great stuff Walker
  8. I'm sure that's what JK will face Don't worry Lee, I'll no say anything aboot you ramming a car at high speed on the centre green whilst a race is in progress, ramming a car whilst rolling to the grid and making numerous attempts to fence cars from a lap down...your secret is safe with me! I'm sure admin will only give you a ticking off for the follow-in
  9. Thanks to admin for running the meeting and well done to all the winners, especially that crazy Kiwi What a difference a few weeks make...4 finishes out of 4 races, only one spin (and not in front of Murf or indeed any of the pack!) and a couple of points to boot...might have to dig out that tin of red paint quicker than I thought Was quite tricky to get into a rhythm around Buxton thanks to the different gradients at opposite ends of the track, but was able to get some decent pre-meeting offline practice and tweak a setup that helped me keep the car pointing in the right direction. I'd agree with the regulars that the tight confines of the track makes it very difficult to avoid incidents, and it was always going to be chaotic early on with so many yellow tops. However, I enjoyed some hard but clean battles with Dave and Leek amongst others but a special mention with merit must go to Marten291 whom I battled with during almost every race I reckon...hard hits lap after lap, no monkey business - fantastic stuff I said that the replay of the Final would be worth a watch, but unfortunately for admin it's for all the wrong reasons...it'll be something to write aboot in the next issue of the excellent UKDirter tho! Oh aye and Lee, enjoy your ban
  10. Hi admin, I have uploaded my F2 skins on the new website but it didn't ask me to specify a league, so just wanna make sure that have been received for the next skinpack. Many thanks.
  11. Superb job by all involved, well done
  12. My unsponsored 2010 Kitson F2...who needs a sponsor and a big wing when you have a big manhood...
  13. Wicked cheers Aub I take it someone's managed to block Wrighty's access to Ftooz then? We all know he's the one that drags UKSom down Will finish off the proper skin this evening and take a chance I've got it right.
  14. Cheers for that Dave...meant to ask yesterday, are we ok to upload a "temporary" skin until the new cars are released, otherwise there are gonna be a lot of Novice cars on the grid? I was going to upload a blank chassis with a number on in case the opportunity arises for me to race before the new release, if it's ok to permit the chassis change later? I can upload my proper skin later this evening if preferred, but I've no had a chance to check it.
  15. Can someone from admin activate my upload facility on the UK-Dirt website, or advise if I can upload my skin onto this thread? I have to add the finishing touches to it tomorrow evening but want to make sure it doesn't get missed out cos I can't upload it onto the website at the mo. Thanking you!
  16. Looks awful Wrighty
  17. Excellent read Johno, certainly keeps everyone bang up-to-date
  18. Thanks Mike, I appreciate it
  19. Thanks for all your help lads...it looks like I'll only manage one meeting between grading periods anyway so if admin are happy to let me off for that one meeting, I'd appreciate it (you'll no notice the flashing lights on the yellow roof anyway!) and will upload the corrected file to where ever I'm asked as soon as I'm home on Sunday
  20. Ignore the previous message...managed to trace the fault to my vehicle file! When I was getting my skins sorted, I don't think there were any other SmithX vehicle files amongst the online skins folder so I think I must have copied the Andy Smith vehicle file, and the upgrades led to 391X_Upgrades.ini rather than smithX_Upgrades.ini. Last stupid question is will this affect my use of the chassis online as obviously I've uploaded a copy of the duff vehicle file in with my skins, or if I amend it after installing the skinpacks should all be ok? Never been any good with bloody wiring, darn those Stupidstar lights!!!
  21. OK cheers lads, sound like an iffy download/install...am I safe enough to do a re-install on top of the existing files without risking losing any files or should I back up anything first? And here's me thinking I was running oot of stoopid questions
  22. Just a wee query ref skins...I read on the F1 league rules to ensure that the superstar lights are not installed unless you are graded accordingly. However, the SmithX chassis doesn't seem to have a "downgrade" to switch 'em off...do I have a dodgy download or is the SmithX chassis generally short on upgrades compared to the rest of the cars? It doesn't seem to have any wheel upgrades like some of the other cars do...just wanted to check before I earn myself a ban when I eventually appear on track!
  23. Cheers UKSOM, just what I've been waiting for
  24. Thanks for running the meeting Spike! Enjoyed my first taste of F2 action, well done to the development team for creating a challenging mod...defo gonna take people a lot of practice to find a good brake and throttle balance aswell as trying to suss oot the best engine and gearbox combo's. All part of the enjoyment of this sim mod tho, top marks UKSOM! Dunno aboot calming doon the big hits tho...Heat 2 certainly got a bit lively as the car park on turn 4 testified. Managed to restrict myself to one self inflicted spin all evening but even that seemed to attract controversy! If driving standards are such an issue for some people, perhaps somesort of Rookie Training should be suggested to admin? I personally don't think there's much admin need to do, it's online stockcar racing...people don't have to worry aboot injuries or repair bills, it's the "aim for the pack" or "revenge no matter what" mentalities that seem to be popular...all it does tho is just helps those bloody red tops catch up quicker! Cya'll soon!
  25. Skeet #318 booking in please, will use a yellow roof novice car
