  1. Is there going to be ordinary racing too? And if so, is Hedno a tarmac round. If so, I might just have to install rFactor and have a go (just formatted and re-installed Windows 7 after a few probs). Big Andy
  2. Hi all Got it, and I love it. I've only done a few dozen laps at Barford (to compare old Microsoft Sidewinder timings) and I feel so much smoother, ffback not so harsh, better braking, better acceleration, and I can race with a full cup of tea on the desk and not lose any (unlike the half a cup I would lose before). It's like the difference between driving a Lada and a Porsche. I've also bought instructions for making a set of pedals that use a load cell for the brake pedal. Talking of pedals, what does a standard set of Logitech DFGT pedals feel like on the brake. I'd describe mine as progresive beeing fairly gentle for about first 1/3 of movement then gets harder to push after that. I'm actually wondering if these have the upgrade spring fitted. Big Andy
  3. Yup, I have that page bookmarked, thanks Grasser, as well as the garage page for setting cars up. It really is a good site. Big Andy
  4. Cheers Nezza, Thanks a load for the setting, should help a lot. I already have the Real Feel plugin, but never really noticed the difference with the Sidewinder FF. Hopefully now I shouldn't have such a fight with the wheel or have FF turned down so low and have a more enjoyable drive from now on. Big Andy
  5. LOL Lets see. get up 6am, race, get kids to school, sort wife with her meds, both of us back to bed for more zeds, get up, collect kids from school, eat meal, race grasstrack, go to bed. Possible for me, just I might struggle with the getting up at 6am bit. Done it before mind, irl. Worked on car until early Saturday morning, slept until 2pm, headed off to navigate on overnight road rally for friend, 2 hours sleep, breakfast, head to days autotest, come home eat dinner, colapse asleep at 8pm. The things we do for motorsport, eh? Let me have a chat with wife and I might give this a try, in all seriousness. Cheers Big Andy
  6. Done it, bought the local DFGT. Now if the guy would just reply to my email about picking it up, I could go get it and start getting used to it ready for monday night. Cheers. Big Andy
  7. Well, now I'm torn. A refurbished Logitech Driving Force Pro or a (fairly) local DFGT. What do some of you think? Big Andy
  8. If you follow the link I put, this is the wheel I'm looking at, and I have all thos on ebay on the search I did, thanks anyway. Big Andy
  9. Hi all I'm looking on ebay for a cheap replacement for my Microsoft Sidewinder FF wheel, until I can get my G25/27 in the new Year. I've found this, but it says it doesn't have the dongle for connecting it to a PS3 is missing. Do I need this 'dongle' or are they on about the USB cable, and if so, is it replaceable? Cheers Big Andy
  10. WD Dan, for all your championships. Yet again, sorry admins for my problems, I really don't know what happened to cause either the crash or repeated problems signing in to further heats. I was really looking forward to the Barford meeting, it's a track I actually like, so it was quite annoying for me not to race. As for the bad manners of other drivers following incidents, and even someone at the start of the night's racing, I know adrenalin can lead to being quite heated, but I have to agree with admins about the attitude. It's only a game at the end of it all, and it's a hobby for the admins, not a full time job. For me, Dave, you do a wonderful job along with Drumb and the others that I appreciate, and I can see at times what a thankless task it is when it would be easier just to race like everyone else. I grew up learning that respect costs nothing, but it seems it does cost some people too much. Maybe bans are the answer, fines are an idea, but I wonder about the legal position for the site. I do agree that if fines are raised and paid for that they should go towards admins yearly fees. Good luck Dave with your future, and I'll see you in the racing. Big Andy
  11. Well, that was a good night for me... not. I hope I can get the login problem solved by Wednesday night for grasstrack as I now need cheering up. I love Barford too BigAndy
  12. Hi all Trying to get somewhere half decent and I have to admit I'm struggling. Can anyone help me with advice on how to drive on shale, setup etc? I'm really beginning to think of cancelling my booking tonight. Big Andy
  13. Here's an rFactor guide http://www.rfactorcentral.com/skins/spraybooth.cfm, and I also managed to do some more advanced (for me) work on my new skin last night of the guide I've attached from rFactor. I'd give you the link, but rFactor's site is down at the moment. Big Andy FULL_COMPREHENSIVE_GUIDE_TO_SKINNING.pdf
  14. I think a lot of us newbies (to both dirt and painting rFactor skins in general) are crying out for a really good guide. We have the basic guides in various places, but no guides on how to put a fancy paint design on the car, how to make decals and place them on the car or how to make numbers and put them on cars. this is really bugging me, and since I had to get Grasser to put numbers on my (basic) painted car, I really want to learn. I've spent a fair bit of time over the last few days searching for info online, I have various photoshop books I've never had chance to read I'm now looking through disks for, and if one of the more experienced players haven't time to create what is needed, I'll give it a go at creating a guide from my experience as a start. Please expert guys on here who do their own funky designs, please introduce us to this dark art. BigAndy
