  1. Oh right, yeah I heard rumours too but no announcement yet. I played it last year, bit of a marathon (took me 69 hours lol!) but I defiantly rate it as high as my favourite RPGs (FFVII and FFX) - one of the best end sequences I've seen in a long time. As for FFXIII, just got onto Chapter 8 tonight, really really good so far.
  2. do you not have brisca heat on yuor pc still 'cause i only really want 107 lee robinson Nope sorry mate, that's long gone now. Perhaps somebody else might have it tucked away? MoR PS - There's an up-to-date Lee Robinson skin in the F1 Stockcars mod for rFactor if you can run it.
  3. I'm not quite as far as you, just got to chapter 6. I'm not to bothered about it being linear as well, as long as it does eventually open up near then end as some have said. Usually enjoy tackling side-quests. My only issue with it is that the first few chapters are essentially 'dungeon' after 'dungeon' (by dungeon I don't mean an actual dungeon, just the term for out-of-town!), not huge cities and stuff to look around and take in. I can see why people are finding it hard to get into when 10 hours into the game you're still in the middle of nowhere pushing through monsters. Square's story-lines and characterisation never fail to disappoint though! Just out of interest, how many disks does the 360 version have? Oh, and a little off topic, but have you played Lost Odyssey Davey?
  4. Got it on Tuesday on the PS3. Quite good so far, quite a departure from the standardised format set out by the series, but still awesome. Looks insane on the PS3.....
  5. The skinpack was made nearly 5 years ago now and I'm afraid it's just got lost in time. Things have moved on a lot since then......
  6. MoR137 Red (for now haha).
  7. Thanks admin for the meeting and well done to Lee for winning the final and top scoring. I thought it was an excellent meeting, I didn't have a single bad race all night, really enjoyable. Was a bit disappointed coming out of the heats as I felt I should've got more from them, as I was up in the top 3 in both of them within the last lap and both times I fell fowl of something dropping me down the places and into the consi. I got spun quite early in the consi and thought it was over, but actually got some good luck to let me into 4th near the end (a popular event judging by Aubs reaction above lol!). The final was a tough race, with the top 10 all pretty close and not changing about all that much, so spent most the race chasing Johno for 7th. Started to come together near the end, after getting past johno, and then drag racing Grasser to the line for 4th. Very pleased with that GN was another good race too. Really looking forward to next week now... ...and in the words of Harold 'I learn English, you learn not complaining' Think he has my funnyperson of the year vote already. MoR
  8. Hi Skeet, You're entirely right with your diagnosis of the problem - maybe we we need to make it clearer that the novice VEHs should be used as a basis for everybodys personal ones rather than the ones from real life skins, as your not the only person I've encountered over the last month or two falling fowl of this. For reference, the real life skins often utilise a unique upgrades file, which allows us to lock upgrades to a particular skin, so if you use that veh, which points to that unique upgrade file, you can only choose the upgrades we've chosen for that skin. My suggestion would be for admin to let you off on this occasion, and to ensure mike 315 has a correct veh file to throw into the next skinpack, then it should all be fine! Also, as Drumb says, don't change the VEH locally as you'll be mismatched and get kicked from races. MoR
  9. Great write up! Looking forward to getting back out there after the winter break!
  10. Nice work! A good way to catch up on missed meetings!
  11. To answer your original question Bobbert, I'd personally recommend the xbox version of the game, as I find it a little slicker than Wii version, particularly in the responsiveness of the guitar. As for the game, depending on what your into, Guitar Hero: World Tour is probably the one with the widest selection of musical genres to choose from, and the game on it's own can be picked up pretty cheap now (the guitar piles on a bit of money though unfortunately). As a musician myself, I resist the urge to be a musical snob about it and defiantly enjoy the game every now and then as something I can just pick up and play, and it's pretty cool for parties and stuff. I personally use SHOP-TO for buying games because it's usually the cheapest, has free delivery, and usually comes the next day if you order before 5.30pm (as long as it's in their immediate stock), which is excellent. You can set up free text alerts to let you know when it's been dispatched too, which can be helpful. Definitely recommend them! Hope this helps and enjoy
  12. Looks fantastic Grass, great work!
  13. Great work Dave!
  14. Good stuff JK and Aub!
  15. To share the profile, you need to find the 'recover profile' bit of the xbox dash (you may need to sign out of a profile if your currently signed into one), and then enter all your details. Takes a little while and isn't particularly quick, but it's an option if you really don't want to pay for two gold accounts.
  16. As far as I'm aware, you can only use the activation code for xbox live gold on one xbox live profile. Therefore, if you wanted to play online at the same time, you can't unless your using two different gold profiles. You can recover your profile on different consoles though, so if you wanted to play online separately, you can share a single profile over two consoles.
  17. Thanks guys, much appreciated
  18. Here's a couple of pics of my tarmac car for 2010. Gone for something quite different this year colours-wise and upgrades-wise....... won't be everybody's cup of tea but I like it (always had a thing for downbars!) and sure it'll stand out lol! Cheers MoR
  19. Hi Mav, First thing that jumps out at me is your USERDATA being 4GB..... it definitely shouldn't be that big (mines 40mb!)..... maybe you mean GAMEDATA instead? My whole rfactor install is only 2.86GB with minimal mods installed, and the majority of that comes from the GAMEDATA folder. Reducing skin sizes was something I experimented with when I was doing the skinpacks for the first half of the 2008 season on rFactor, and it wasn't very popular at all as it drastically reduces the quality of the skins, which is extremely noticeable against the detailed models and crisp surroundings. What's important to remember is that (as far as I'm aware), the game only loads what it's using, so it won't load your skin until you choose your car, and it won't load your competitors skins until you are joining them on track, so having 8 skins per person won't affect how quick the game runs when racing, or anything like that. Your quite right in noticing the drastic difference in file sizes between a 2048x1024 skin to a 1024x512 skin, and that of course means more data will be loaded in a race, but at such a small amount, it shouldn't really be an issue. To sum up, if you are having a problem, I really don't think the skins are the answer. There are so many more elements of the game which will be much more intensive on your hardware; the tracks are one example - most of them will be loading many more DDS's than the skins on track. You can't compare the disk space used between Heat and rFactor because it really is just the advancement of technology - 194mb was quite a big amount back when the HDD in my pc was only 8GB. It's normal for games to be in the GB's now - just looking at two modern shooters on my pc at the moment they are 5GB and 9GB. Also, skinpack/download size isn't really a concern as DDS files compress very well - zip up a 1.33mb skin and you'll notice it comes out at around 140KB, and the same goes when you pack it into an installer. Hope this clears up some confusion MoR
  20. Haha just seen this excellent. Great choice of picture..... flattering lol!
  21. Great pics Tosh
  22. Sorry guys going to have to book out, I'll be out for longer than I thought on xmas eve. Have a good un.
  23. Well, I got chance to have a look at the x2 tyre wear tonight, and here are my thoughts... TBH, my opinions on this are much the same as Dazza's when it comes down to how will this improve the racing. The problem there isn't with the physics/tyres, it's with the driver's, and tonights practice did confirm that in many ways (baring in mind of course that people were quite relaxed tonight; a few bigger hits than normal). Driving standards have always been a problem on UKDirt and probably every other online racing league, and no amount of server settings, physics changes or mod changes will ever change that. Half the problem is that stupid mentality people seem to get about them of 'ah well everyone else is doing it so I might aswell do it myself'.... doesn't solve anything and is half the reason stupid driving stays around. I'm digressing a little, so I suppose I better get back on topic.... It would be silly for me to say there isn't an issue with the physics if what your after is complete and utter realism - now the ultimate pace has been found, it's obvious that getting it a little bit sideways is the fastest way around. Can that be cured? Most likely, but IMO, x2 tyre wear isnt the way to go about it. At some point down the line the physics may need reviewing, but as Grasser already said, that isn't going to happen for 2010. What really got my back up about the previous thread is the fact that some people seem to have gotten a little spoilt by the occasional physics changes in mods like Rods/F2s that they seem to believe that there has to be changes in the F1s aswell. That's daft, and threatening to not race unless it happens is even dafter. So why don't I like tyre wear set at x2? I think the current tyre wear setting is fine. Maybe it's just me, as I do drive quite hard, but if I've had a fast/hectic race, with a few hits sending me wide etc, the tyres are pretty worn for the last 5 or 6 laps of the race. I'm happy with that - I've really pushed it, so I deserve the handicap of the tyres going off on me. With the server setting at x2, I found the wear suddenly snaps - one half spin and your tyres have had it, race over. Bit frustrating if that happens when it is most likely to happen; at the start of the race. The idea of saving and conserving tyres is not one I personally associate with the F1s, and it's not one that I find remotely interesting or fun. If I want to watch my tyre temperatures, I'd go race a circuit racing mod - for me F1s are about driving the fastest and hardest I can on a tiny little track, not worrying that my tyres might go off if I overshoot the next bend trying to hit somebody. The controversial Wimbledon meeting last year proved (to me) that pansying about worrying about tiny little things like crossing white lines (or in this case, tyres) isn't a fun way to race stockcars. For me, it's boring. I'm quite concerned that if this change does come in, how it will effect the league in the long term. How will people feel about it once we are out of the initial honeymoon period? I have concerns that it might make a real mess of the grades for the first couple of months (with whites and yellows jumping to a maximum of 3 grades, with others only dropping a maximum of one) and I really think it will make spinning even more common. I also think that the mod is already on the borderline of inaccessibility for some and this will only exaggerate that. Tonight I tried allsorts with my setup tonight and found some things that worked and some that didn't. I won a couple of races, but I only won these because of how much carnage was going on. Was this because of the relaxed practice attitude, or was this because people were struggling with the cars? I think having tyre wear x2 = carnage x2. I feel it will be a step back for a league which has just started to gain popularity, and whether or not the drifting issue bothers you is a subjective matter. Tyre wear x2 - not for me I'm afraid....
  24. MoR137 red (or s/s depending what grades we're using!) booking in please.
