Sparky you seem to claim erik knows nothing when in the "follow-in" thread you claim follow-ins are and attempt to hurt the driver, well yes i supose they are in f2's, but not in contact formula's, not every meeting your'e going to get followed in, unless you follow your self in! (i think follow-ins should be introduced at monaco formula-1 ) cheers

Dis-agree you might go out and do one lap and the clutch cable snap and you get blitzed no matter how long you spent building it. When you build the banger you have to know you might not do more then 2 laps. Like i said my dads been followed in before the green flag after spending time building a banger. Its a risk you alway have to take and no doubt you'll get out pi**ed off. cheers

Banger racing is ment to be a full contact sport which is why its one of the best forms of racing out there,so leave it like it is,if you dont like it dont watch/race in that formula.when i go out in a banger i know full well i could get the mother of all hits on me.But thats why i'm out there the buzz the adrenalin rush.Yea some of the hits hurt but boy there worth it.Regarding the lackey hit,i'm surprised he did'nt get hurt more tbh looking at the size of the frame, lucky if thats more than 2 inch no way would i use a frame that small Yes but look how straight his drivers door is, the car was solidly built!

How would you propose the Driver would jump when car was knackered if they done that? T-bones are most dangerous end of.. But anyone can do a length of the straight t-bone Tbh. Even though you all claim the bluebird hit was silly and dangerous, look at it like this the drivers seat has gone hardly anywhere nor the doorframe, The car was built properly no denieing that. But i think if you followed in a granny like that in a 4.2 Jaguar it would of snapped just as much if not more, look at the one who hit post on his own coming out of corner hardly moving well uprighted his post and he wasn't being pushed. I hear that all tracks have to be armco by 2008 anyway weather it's true or not i don't know. The rules should be left alone and if you disagree the rods are on quite a bit go watch a bit of them instead. cheers

Yes Braderz good one. For and 11 year wisdom out classes us all... Like your'e comment about 3.0 liters. How many people have died racing? And how many were racing hearses at the time...? Psychos jag if i remember rightly was in the back of a ds420h probably wrong but the jag came worse off. If you go out on track with no fear your'e dangerous... cheers

Right look at it like this... Old school mildenhall (post and wire) My dad has raced there loads of times post and wire. He has been followed in before the green flag has even dropped.. He even followed in Stuart ahern (i think thats his name) and blitzed him again next lap.. Ipswich (2005) Got t-boned and it was the first time he has EVER been hurt in a banger. From a drivers point a view he hates t-bones he says they hurt more then anyting else, and they are most dangerous.. That man at ipswich can't remember his name got put in a wheel-chair from one. He gave up when racing engines started, as now like tha racing the hits are a lot faster. Cars are built alot better.. But it has to be more dangerous! Unless you spend loads on a engine, and put more weld into your banger then the titanic. If you hit an iceberg in a bears car you wouldnt notice.. But from the audiences perspective. Follow-ins are epic. And some people even rate someone doing the length of the straight through someones door!! Which i don't rate at all. To ban follow-ins is a risky move from the promoters point as less people will enjoy the racing etc, but health and safety is goint to far IMO soon if you breathe at the wrong angle you'll be shot at dawn with a water pistol! I don't think they should be banned but while engines are getting quicker and quicker what can they do... Ban racing engines? But think of time to scruiteneer one if that was the case.. I'm not sure what will happen! cheers Sparky the object of bangers isn't rodding it's also wrecking they aren't trying to hurt them they always get out and shake hands, so what would you rather see oppo? t-bones? drivers dooring? Or nudge and spin cause thats would it will be like... if you look at it like that!

Obviously at Unlimited meetings, you're allowed any size, but at 1400 meetings its up to 1399cc I think. ok then...remmember 3liter's are crap, unlimited and they get f*cked up easily! If your'e talking about the essex v6 3.0/2.5, they aren't crap at all they aren't as quick as a calone 2.8/2.3, but they have more tourque (can't spell it).. and are better to use in bigger cars for there pulling power... and the essex and calone v6 are nearly identical (although the dizzys at the front of a 3.0) so how you say they get wrecked easy compared to any v6... but then again at the age off 11 you aren't speaking from experience..... and neither so am i. cheers
