Remember the old filling station right by the entrance on the main road, they used to do a roaring trade on race days.

Wouldnt it be nice if they kept the oval for a road and kept the centre green and built the houses round the outside.

I guess that would be asking too much

Just watched the programme on ITV4 covering stateside Destruction Derbies.

Thought it was really interesting, finding out what you can change and what you cant.

How they build their cars etc.

They follow 2 racers through to the big one in California and eye up the opposition, which includes the FBI ( Fat Boys Incorperated )

Admitted the arena is small and kinda muddy but plenty of action.

 

Its repeated tomorrow morning 11.25 am ITV4 if you`ve got sky or freeview, worth a watch, better still record it and fast forward the adverts....

The way I see it, as someone else as already mentioned, if the cars get rarer cos there are less of them the survivers should increase in value.

I think most of these old motors that are raced 9 times out of 10 are beyond saving cos they are wrecks and a lot of work is put into getting them to the track and looking half decent.

Far worse is a car that is kept in a barn for years rotting away only to be taken down to the scrap yard and crushed without getting to go racing.......

You probably all remember last years application to East Dorset District Council to flatten Matchams Park Stadium, Ringwood and build 40 houses on the site.

Glad to say the plans were rejected on the grounds that no social housing was included in the design such as Housing Association units.

 

Just found out Application No. 3/08/0606/OUT has now been submitted to the East Dorset District Council (15th May) for the Demolition of Matchams Staduim and Ancillary Structures and redevelopment of the whole site for 40 houses, etc,etc....

I realise this is not your typical tourist spot, but this is where our cruise ship decided to dock for the day.

This may have have more to do with the refuelling of the ship.

I have visited far better places on Sicilly and mainland Italy for that matter.

I admire the way they get over the lack of parking spaces in Rome for instance, if you cant find a space left on the side of the road, just start to double park and start a fresh row, even found some triple parked....should try this one in London, lots of fun.

I have even been through Naples ( Napoli ) during the morning rush hour, and lived.

Your English is fine Romano, better than my Italian.

Whilst spending the Day in Palermo, Sicilly recently, took these photos just to show the state of their cars.

Seems Banger racing just comes naturally over there........ most cars have dents, the side trim ripped off along with the door mirrors and the bumpers well used.
