I have just migrated from Tesco to Pipex. Tesco have never let me down but Pipex are offering a better all-round deal

**Stupid forum wouldn't let me edit! :banghead2: **

AOL are indeed a waste of space and are beginning to show the direction they are taking (more of a community, like msn, than a broadband supplier).

Orange offer good deals to their mobile customers BUT you have to resign your mobile contract for 18 months and I have recently had lots of problems connecting a wireless network using the Orange Livebox (which is huge, almost as big as a sky digibox!).

Sky broadband looks good but it seems it is gonna be the same old story with them, rush out these new ideas and then have no real masterplan. As always with sky their motto is 'sell sell sell' and they will bend over backwards for new customers whilst us loyal people wait on hold for hours on end!

We've got wireless broadband with an Orange Livebox. Its okay once its up and running, but the network is a bugger to set up in the beginning, I had to resort to letting my dad set it up, and he in turn had to resort to phoning tech support.

We've been with Orange, having had various types of account with them, since they were called "Freeserve". The Livebox is the only thing I remember there being any problems with.

BT unlimted ere...

Been with them for years though, and still on 2mb..

I thought all BT packages came with download limits  Maybe you haven't upgraded to their new packages thats why you still only on 2MB with no download limits

I'd stick with that rather than having to worry about download limits.

LOL, cheers!

A few people I know have had problems with the Livebox. It took 3 attempts for the wireless adaptor and the Livebox to eventually pair-up and even then it wouldnt connect every time :banghead2:

I prefer the good old fashioned wireless routers from Linkskys, so much easier to configure, lol

I find it hard to believe that 40gb per month only allows 60mins of video a week. I've been with BT 2mb 40gb capped for a good few years now and I've never had an email to say that I've exceeded my limit. I download all the latest mods and updates for the likes of Rfactor, BF2 when I played it and several other large downloads in a month without any problems. It's only the people that have their PCs running 24/7 using p2p programs that would have any problems I think.

40GB aint as much as it sounds, just 60 mins of video a week! They haven't always had download limits have they? I had BT years ago and don't remember it back then.

I've had BT broadband for quite a few years no I pay £25.00 a month and I have unlimited downloads.

Although I have wireless, I always use my desktop for racing, as that is connected through the ethernet cable.

I tried it on the laptop but it ran a little slower.

Well I have been with pipex since tuesday now, not overly impressed so far, signed up to 8MB, was told my line could handle that, but only getting just under 2MB! I know I have the 7-10 day speed check thing, but kind ofg expected more from a company that has been around a while and specialise in this field.
