WELL DONE TRAV 4 RACE WINS

Chasing Pixies is not one of my favourite past-times  Well done on the race-winning maximum tho, uncatchable all night :appl:

Thanks for running a super slick meeting Kev and Spike...whilst Trav disappeared out front for the entire night, I have to admit I enjoyed some great battles with Spike in every race, with Leek, Corny and Johno gatecrashing on occasions aswell. Can't grumble at top 5 finishes in every race...even if Johno spun me out of 2nd on the last bend of the Final! Was just relieved to be able to find reverse so quick and fumble across the line...to be honest I really didn't know who was behind me or how far back they were as I was too busy concentrating on avoiding those marshal's banks...I had lapped a couple of cars a few laps previously so was kind of hoping it was one of them but when the thud arrived, it kind of answered my question! Fair play to ya tho Johno, you had to give it a go...and despite your self-imposed excursion over the bank, you only lost one place!

Looking forward to seeing you all at the World Final!

I definitely can't let this one go without comment, as I'm struggling to remember a time when I've felt so frustrated with racing this mod - and it's all down to one person.

Harmen - I really do not know how you expect others to race against you when you almost always show them no respect, and this even includes the practice sessions before meetings where you hit people whenever you get the chance. I could have hit you/tried to take you out of races so many times this year but I haven't because I like to race people fairly, unfortunately though with you, my patience ran out tonight. You would think having only 3 blue tops on the grid, we might be able to get a good run towards the front of the field and at least be challenging for top 3 places come the end of the race - that was my aim as I knew Trav would be practically uncatchable from white. No such fortune though when you have someone in your grade who seems only to register the car in front at any one time.

Really hate having to be downbeat about it as I really look forward to Thursday nights and have no beef with anyone else racing at the moment, but there comes a point where I can't bite my tongue any longer. I then proceeded to turn right into Harmen in the GN just to try and get him out've my way and this got me nowhere, ending up out've the points a lap down. Not something I enjoyed at all. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way from what I have seen in chat at various points this year - I can't tell anyone (Harmen) how to race but all I can say is, it's crystal clear that you are not improving by continuing to race the way you do, as though the car in front is your only competition even though there may be 20+ others to think about!

Overall a very disappointing points return considering my hopes for the meeting, fingers crossed next week might go a little better - thanks Spike and Kev for the running of the meeting and well done Trav on the clean sweep,

Thx,

Corny

Good meeting i thought i have made a video of the final but i doubt it will see the light of day.

Anyway my only gripe and i have moaned about this before but i will say it again. I find it really annoying that the meeting was over in just over half an hour all the practice thru the week for 30 or so mins of racing now for the people that race just f1s and there are a few paying £15 for 30 odd mins racing action is somewhat of a rip off (the fact it costs £15 in the first place is bad enough but thats another story). I said in a f2 post recently about the loss of community spirit and this is one of the reason it is going theres no time to talk to other members no time talk to new members and help them out hell theres even no time to get up for a p*ss because the meeting is rushed. Why not add a few fun races in aswell as the heats i dunno a yellow and white top race and a red blue and s/s race on top of the heats just please sort it out cause its dying on its arse. Lets get some fun back into the league again or we wont be here in 3 years time i dont think..

I agree with what Corny and Aub have said, I feel theres more banter in other mods compared to f1's and I get fed up racing f1's after getting constant left rear wheels shots from the likes of harmen, keep it up if you want harmen since you probs just think we are just a bunch of moaners but im sure im not the only one who will get revenge when it matters most.

Fair point Aub, the meetings are over very quickly, especially over the last couple of months.

Believe it or not, suggestions are already being made for the 2011 season and pretty much everything that you have suggested (apart from the reds/superstars race - but we can add this to the list) has already been suggested in that post. As an Admin Team, we have always tried to listen to the members and if we feel it will benefit the league, then we will look into it, and they are being looked into for next season.

As for this season, we will not be making any changes to the meeting format as it then effects points and what not. I would add to that is traditionally July and August are quieter months (after the qualifiers and the wait for the World Final). Whilst the European was a little lower than expected, both Semi Final meetings had improved attendances and plus more races and therefore more time.

Over the coming months, I would expect numbers to increase further. We have the World Championship double header to come, with the Wednesday night seeing an extra race on the card (Consolation Semi Final). We have also asked another league if they would be interested in taking part on both nights of the double header to try and spice things up, and thus far they have not got back to us with an answer. Add to that we have the British Championship, Tarmac masters, Grand National Championship, World of Shale, the possible return of a couple of qualifying rounds as well as the National Points Shootout, all at meetings which will include a different format or an extra race, and things will hopefully be looking up a little. The start of September is an exciting time for most leagues - what it needs is for people to come to theparty so to speak. If you think I can try and persuade anyone, or think of ways to persuade people, then please feel free to make suggestions.

Can I also add that we are more than willing to put up the server at the end of the meeting. One of the most exciting things about racing 3-5 years ago was the fact that a lot of drivers stayed in the server at the end of the meeting for some 'afters'. Now Corny and Spike JNR are usually in the server after a meeting, and if there was interest, I would be quite happy to sit int he server and sort it out. If people wanted, we could put on there a selection of tracks, set the server to 10 laps say and have some races. Is this something that people would be interested in? Again, like Aub says, it would be a very good time to help the newer drivers, but it would need a good handful of drivers to take part.

Anyway, I hope that tells you a little bit about the end of the season. Please feel free to make further suggestions as you think of them, but I can assure you that the suggestions that you have made are already being discussed. There are things that we can do in the here and now (like the above paragraph) and things that we can do in the future (like Aubs suggestion).

As for the thing that Dode points out with the back wheel, it is a tricky one. We can't exactly ban drivers for hitting on the back wheel. On hale, I think you have to expect it a little bit due to the fact that you drive with the backend out. It is fair to say that in order to be quick, you need the back end out a little on tarmac too. All we can do is appeal to drivers to think about how they are racing. That said, in fairness, there have been very few what Iwould class as poor meetings this season, and people generally have been quite happy. But again, it still requires drivers to think for themselves a little bit.

I hope that helps answer your queries a little bit? Shoudl you come up ith any further ideas, or anyone else come up with some ideas, then please feel free to post them. I can always add them to the thread on the Admin Forum about next year.

Cheers

Johno

its a good post by aub i have to say, and its one that i would have posted about the mod myself at somepoint. the racing is over quick in f1s way to fast for my liking and for others, if by chance you have a connection problem your screwed. say it takes you 5-10mins youve probably missed all your heats.IF you cant get back in on the warm down time and som epcs are slower than others at booting up the game.

aubs also correct in saying cant even have time for a FILTERED, i have to laugh because one night a few weeks back i was needing a FILTERED and i just leave it to the end of the gn incase i missed the final/gn

i for one hope we have the points system run on 3 heats each person next year.

i would like to see......format as.

3 heats each....and 3-5mins warm up in between each race incl heats/final/gn....(a bit of time for some chat,a restart of the game and to try a different set up inbetween races)

final

gn

and to end the night a dash for cash all in race maybe.........

6 races all in not to bad if i say so plenty of racing to be had. couldnt believe last night we was finished after 9 .its good ithat its finished early and we can sit our arses down but i like my thursdays for some banter and some good enjoyable racing. hope admin take the points across.

ive raced fair with most drivers as they have done with me its only a few that will cut the kerbs etc to hit your back wheel to make you go out wide which I find is a dirty tactic and thats where I usually resort to spinning them or following them in flat out. Its only maybe 2 or 3 drivers that do it to me to be honest and I think it shows no race craft and lack of skill but thats just my opinion.

It just puts me off racing if all your going to get in 2 or 3 drivers spoiling your races as well as other peoples.

Sorry to put this up because I hate stirring things up but I warned about all in this in admin forum early this season and got called a scare moungourer and that I was talking out my behind.

Again sorry to post this but I no longer have a forum to post this in away from prying eyes (By my own choice)

Oh and admin should know I still really care about what happens in the future of UKdirt from another post I have in the admin forums in the moment so think before you reply please

**EDIT**

Head admin at the time put it to the other members who were not willing to listen and for that I am thankful.
