Thanks for the meeting Kev. Very enjoyable.

Well done Craig for the final and top scoring, I thought I had got away early on... but it was not to be!

TnT races were... crazy as usual! :steeringwheel:

^^ edit: Indeed Tosh, some excellent battles. :)

Thanks Tosh - I have been leading races on the other league and had backmarkers get in my way and i know how bad it is. I really need to get some better setups though.

One thing - i'll definatly be back racing here - if you'll have me lol. WD Mor for topping the points.

Thanks Kev for the meeting, and well done Dazza on winning the GNC.

The night was an interesting one for me - I managed to get great start in the GNC and slip into 2nd first bend, but Tom already had a nice big lead, so i went for a massive shot going into turn 3. I'm yet to see the replay, but I don't think i had all four wheels across the kerbs and, whilst a huge hit, I did connect, which was enough to hold Tom up to stop him running away with it. I was a bit bemused to get questioned after the race as to why i did this; I think the reasons are pretty obvious; if you let Tom get away, he will get away! After all this, I managed to take the lead for a few laps with Murf and Tom chasing, but the earlier big hit had done something to the car so I couldn't get it going particually well (yes yes, it's MoR with the damaged car excuse again!). With this, I'd never win the race on speed, so set about challenging Murf once he got past. One hit half spun him, but it was quite unavoidable with the rear wheel exposed going into the bend. I wasn't particually a fan of the way I was taken out of the race a few laps later, but it will be remembered for an appropriate time. Sounds like slowing those two up sure made for a more interesting race anyway ;)

The rest of the meeting went fantastic for me - the setup was working great, and the bit of breathing room from the shootout drivers was a great opportunity to get going at the start of the races. The heats were fun with some great races with Tosh and Danskin, and I was very pleased to finally get another final win - my first for 2 seasons and only my third after 8 seasons. Really enjoyed racing the GN from the handicap too - got very lucky on the last lap and managed to sneak 5 or 6 places!

As is the norm, the TNT races were crazy and a great laugh, with lots of guys on the wind up.

Can't race next week, so see you all in two!

MoR

PS - Any chance of the GNC and final replays please Kev?

A very good meeting. I enjoyed a comeback after a few weeks off.

The TNT's at the end are an enjoyable addition to proceedings, a big improvement on the short meetings previously. Great fun.

Thanks for running it so well Kev. :appl:

Well done Dazza and MoR

I would have liked to race, especially with having a potential inside Row2 GNC grid slot, but unfortunately 11 days ago had a quite heavy fall and caused myself a bit of damage to my left elbow/wrist and right shoulder - I play darts in a local pub league every Monday and on my way home, stepped onto a road surface not realising it was wet and slippery, then half a second later, bang! This means in all probability my racing season is over - however I am encouraged to see the TNT series is still very close by the looks of it.

Cheers,

Jnr was very pleased with the GNC race as he came from the back to 7th place until MoR and Tosh managed to regain those places near the end of the race. 9th was a superb result.

Both his heats went well, but from the front you'd expect whites to make some headway, but with some very fast drivers on track at Birmingham, he still has to wait for his first win. 5th place in both he was happy with.

His happiness turned to unwillingness come final time. During the roller he turned to me chating and didnt realise that his speed had got up to 24mph until I told him, for which he immediately dropped back down. He then said that when the go was called he would wait before booting it, which he did. The race was stopped, and I understand why, but Jnr took it to heart that people said he was a "Cheat". I fully understand this is just "Banter", but you have to remember that Jnr is only 11 years old and doesn't understand "Banter" especially from older people, as I am trying to teach him to respect his elders, and thats not easy to do in this day and age.

During the final re-run, Jnr just gave up and pulled off after a few laps, until I told him to carry on, but he lost that whole lap and then was dead last and didn't try.

GN race, once he had been caught, he then got stuck in and enjoyed the battle to the line and was very chuffed to have scrapped through in 10th place.

Thunder races saw him absolutely totalled by Tom and Dazza, I didn't see the point in it myself, but Jnr just shrugged it off and continued on and finished one race in the points.

He was very sorry to have taken Mike out, yards from the line, dropping Mike from 1st to 3rd.

So Guys, on track Jnr is treated the same as anyone of you (except Harmen!) but off track please can I ask you to be careful what you say to him, as he is still learning in life.

Sorry to hear of your accident, hope you mend soon Corny - All the best.

ps - I might be back at a track near you soon, as I have re-installed rFactor on my old laptop and Kevin is lending me his wheel

Sorry to hear of your fall, Corny - hopefully you had a ready made anaesthetic as you were returning from a night at the pub :king:

I noticed Mav Jnr had pulled further and further away from me & Lew in the Final roller, and even though we speeded up he seemed to be away, so Kev was right to recall it.

I am certain the "Cheat" said in chat was entirely joking, it's a shame Jnr did not realise this. I am sure we will try and go easy on the young lad in future.

Great meeting I thought, well done to MoR on the heat/final double you were going really well all night.

Regards to the TNT Mav, I always try and treat is as a fun end to the meeting and although Jnr had a a big hit from a few people (including myself as you mention) the fact that he 'shrugged it off' is a compliment to himself, he has gained more respect for not whinging and whining from me (and I expect Tom aswell) that we are even more likely to help him out when he is struggling.

As for the cheat comment, I dont think I mentioned the word although whenever it comes up I try and use it as an opportunity to wind up Murf more then anything else, its a good job he can take abit of banter to! Next week If im luckily enough to be racing I will probably stick to racing properly in the TNT races though.

Cheers once again Kev,

Darren

EDIT: Get well soon to Corny
