Hello All,

WOW! What an amazing meeting!!

First of all, thanks to everyone that raced tonight. I really thought the meeting was an absolute belter. Thanks to everyone for staying in the server which helped the meeting to run very smoothly.

Onto the meeting, and DanSkin (236) was on fire in the heats winning 4 out of his 5 races. Other races wins went the way of the reds and superstars in the form of TomD (1), Corny (391), Liam (90) and MoR (137). This meant that the grid was formed as follows:

I agree with Johno. It was a brilliant meeting. Will anyone be doing a video of the final?

WD Dan - unbeatable all night and i'm sure that the British will be one title or many. I did better than i thought, i love the new Kings Lynn but just cant seem to keep consistant laptimes.

WD Dan - Congrats m8 - Drove consistant all night

Really chuffed to have finished all 5 heats in the top ten, after a problematic 2 hour practice session!!

A tad disappointed in the British to finish 15th from starting 15th, but it seems on the replay that I had a damaged inside rear wheel from lap 6 onwards.

A good meeting, made all the better for me not annoying anyone although I do think that in the British, I contributed to Corny hitting the tyre and spinning out although I couldn't have got any further out of the way down the straight. Sorry.

Well Done Johno, not easy rm'ing big meetings, but did a sterling job. :appl:

...I do think that in the British, I contributed to Corny hitting the tyre and spinning out although I couldn't have got any further out of the way down the straight. Sorry.

You weren't at fault Mav so no need for any apologies - it was a simple case of me having my eye on the rear of the car in front (Grasser) and under-compensating for the fact that I was taking a more acute line into the bend than normal, end result being a large whack on the marker tyre which caused some kind of catastrophic damage, not sure what it was but I do know it was a hell of a struggle to get it around the bends from then onwards!

Really enjoyed the meeting though, knew it would be extremely hard for anyone to deny DanSkin pole position so to get outside front was as good as I could have expected, then around the first bend much as I had thought before the meeting we did survive it and get away at the front, with Grasser getting a good start from inside row5 to go third. DanSkin seemed to get out've shape on the second lap down the back straight and I gave him what would have to be described as a 'big one' into turn3, sending him to the armco and going through to lead. Then led a few laps with Dan still in touch right behind, was just trying to maintain a steady pace at this point with there being so long to go in the race, and as we approached the backmarkers Dan nudged me wide in 1/2 to lead again. Matty seemed to get half spun in turns1/2 and Dan gave him a nudge on his back end, this delayed me a bit and Grasser was now in touch behind. Fast forward a few laps and I was really starting to get comfortable, relaxing and looking forward to applying some pressure to Dan again, then bang, Daveyboy bounced off a marker tyre at the end of the home straight, Dan hit him full force, I hit Dan, Grasser hit me, and I got pinned behind Davey's car momentarily as he rolled back towards the armco! Now back to 3rd just recovering in time to keep Tom behind me and started to settle again and set about trying to get past Grasser - then made an error of judgement which Mav referred to, surprised my front inside wheel didn't come off completely in a way and that was race over apart from limping around to an eventual 10th and make sure I stayed out've the way as the top 3 lapped me! If it was a normal race I'd not have been taking the risk to end up hitting the tyre but I could see Dan getting himself a gap and needed to make a move on Grasser ASAP if I was to leave enough laps to catch Dan, alas, it didn't go to plan!

I wanted Dan to win it if I couldn't, so I'm happy in that respect, well done on a fine performance all night :appl: And in terms of the meeting in general I think it was befitting of a British Championship, with fierce competition all the way through the Heats and a good element of suspense while we watched for the Final grid announcements. Thanks to Johno and all the stewards for the smooth running of the meeting, don't forget all the replays from the server are available through THIS THREAD, enabling you to pick out your own favourite viewpoints to spectate from around the track or on board with drivers.

This was also the last meeting to count towards the 3rd re-grading of 2011 so look out for an announcement on those in the near future. Looking forward to Hednesford for a totally different style of racing and hopefully people will turn out in their numbers to grab some all-important WCQR points as the clock ticks ever closer to this year's Semi Finals.

Thanks,

Corny

Thanks for the kind words. Very pleased - I was expecting the worst after such good heat results, but managed to slide through the first bend unscathed and then settle into a nice battle with Corny and Grasser for the lead. There were a few other hairy moments in the race that certainly kept it interesting.

Thanks also to the conscientious back-markers who made the race a bit easier on us, and my apologies to Matty as I spun you out / contributed to your spin early on.

Nice to see a healthy booking list and it's good to see some of the newer (and older) drivers getting to grips with the racing more and more each week.
