southy277 Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 On m6 heading back to Skipton now. Well we went to Stoke with 2 F1s and took no luck with us. My dads F1 smashed front end and cracked rear axle casing - likely to be end of season and 88 totally wrecked undercarriage. The point to this is that at the meeting I met a few lads from here. Firstly DanSkin, Big Al, Dave and TomD. Great to put faces to the names and had good chats with all. All seem grand lads. Sorry to a few that I didn't spend long chatting but as you could see we had a lot on. Thanks to Tom for helping get the trailer moved!
bristolstokie Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 I was there too southy but didn't see anyone I knew (only know a few faces though). From a spectators view there was some great action and I really enjoyed it. Sorry to hear about the disappointment. I'll be back there next time I hope.
southy277 Posted September 22, 2012 Author Report Posted September 22, 2012 Thanks - that's stock car racing!
big al 515 Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Yeh great to meet you too Southy - unlucky to you & your Dad with the damage and good of you to chat when you had a lot on. I also met Dan Skin & Tom for the first time, and met Trav for the first time for a few years. Top night!
southy277 Posted September 22, 2012 Author Report Posted September 22, 2012 I got your message from my dad when I went to cool down 88. Tom pointed out trav but then I had to dash to move the trailer.

DanSkin Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 Yes, nice to put some faces to names! And for my first time at Stoke I was pleasantly surprised, a real stockcar track... but god knows how they race speedway there!
Dave488 Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 was good to meet you southy shame we couldnt have chatted more but these things happen lol, hope you get the car sorted soon i know all too well how much time and effort it takes to keep a f1 going week in week out, from our point of veiw it was great to get home with no damage for a change as for trav and dan they are 2 of the nicest chaps you will meet, ive known trav for a few years now and he is a great lad
