big al 515 Posted March 15, 2013 Report Share Posted March 15, 2013 Cracking meeting overall. It didn't start well, my first heat was a write off - I didn't make the first bend. I haven't seen a replay but I got the impression it was due to an over zealous white top behind. I got him back later, mind Things settled down after that and had some good battles. Pleased with a 7th next time out and then so nearly in the points again next race but Stox shifted me on the last bend and it was a drag race to the line which I just lost. Things went well in the Grand National and was on 4th but Chevy was getting closer and closer and timed his last bender perfectly. managed to hold onto 5th so I was well happy. Had a top battle with BigWig/BigDave too can't remember which race it was though. The roller's improved significantly through the night, the last 2 or 3 were excellent. I enjoyed the meeting last night - sheffield always produces unique racing. I was a bit disapointed with the GN because I'd had a reasonable start but a blip in concentration meant I broke a wheel on the inner tyres, so I had to retire. The best race of the night for me was Heat 8 with Sije, where we both had a tough start and it looked to be one of those races where everybody was messing about for 15th place, but we made a break and then spent the rest of the race making progress into the points whilst making oppotunitist moves and hits on each other when we could but never wasting each others time with messing about for no reason. 'Change yer tune MoR'.... i know, but that's a proper race not this 'last-bend/every-bend' for 18th place like we sometimes get!
