A heat win, a GN win, 2nd in my 2nd heat, all good, but the WF and Final, my over eagerness got the better of me! Would have got some nice points in the final if I had thought about it a bit better, but hey ho! All good fun! Thanks for the meeting, quite enjoyed it! Wd there Seneschall, drove great in the GN. A terrible night results wise for me but I had the pleasure of watching the best world final I have ever seen from the server and it was a great drive by all of the top guys, Dan having to fend off multiple attacks to take the win. Wardieee Posted September 7, 2015 Report Share Posted September 7, 2015 Well tonight was one of the best nights racing I have ever had the pleasure of taking part in.... This week I have done nothing but practice knowing that Row 10 was the place to avoid the big first bend, then tonight my prayers were answered with a nice big pileup! After about 6 laps I managed to squeeze into 4th before 58 and 315 had a huge dig at my rear. At that point i though it was race over! Foot down for a good recovery, and off back to second I went. Possibly the most challenging race i've taken part in, i've never been so determined but Dan had already checked out Thanks to everyone who run the meeting, especially Dave/Stumps/Grasser... Massive well done to DanSkin MR 4 TIMES I was never ever catching him, so hats off to our worthy champion.... Meeting final on World Final night,,, I'll take that! Watched the race on the stream (big thanks for putting it up Grasser) and have to say definatly the best race I've watched since joining. The first half of the race was awesome, 5/6 cars all battling it out up front with hits going in every bend yet nothing got OTT! After Dan got the break from the group it was a case of who could get anywhere near and hope for trouble through the back markers! Looked at one point that wardie was closing in (cracking drive mate) and ready to pounce on any mistake but credit to Dan he kept his cool. Like Paul said WD to josh for getting 5th from the back, tbh didn't look like you were going to even make it through the consi with 3 to go so top effort that! DanSkin Posted September 8, 2015 Report Share Posted September 8, 2015 Thanks for the kind words folks. I have to say that World Final ranks as one of the best races I've ever had on UKDirt. From a very fair early battle with Ben, Wardy and Tsjalle to being relentlessly pursued in the later stages by Wardieee my nerves were in tatters and I was exhausted by the finish. Really can't emphasize how much I enjoyed it. In the end, with the pace Jamie brought in the second half of the race it was something of a blessing that the battling early on had kept the pace down. Thanks Dave, F2 Admins and Stumpy for the meeting. And big thanks to Grasser for sorting the stream out as well. Really had little expectation of retaining the gold, chuffed to bits.
