i've added one more tutorial for adding your new wheel to the game either for adding it to the Car file of a new car you are making, or for adding it to the part.res file (Eriks tutorial) for use with any car by changing the drivers.txt file wheelbase_name entry PLEASE NOTE altering the part.res file may cause cheat messages when online (for offline use only) i don't think adding your wheel to your new car will cause cheat messages but i'm not sure you get get loads of wheel skins from the downloads section of My Webpage hopefully we can now have a greater selection of skins i'm just making these tutorials as i make my car it'll stop me from forgetting [attachmentid=14303] pazza

if you want, i could post up the .car file and template and 3ds, although the damage, driver and cockpit view are wrong like a prototype
-
not too sure really its my first car and i don't really know what to expect or what problems i will have quite a while i would imagine
-
nice one have you got to damage yet? i'm finding it difficult!
-
what cars are you modelling? good luck btw my 3 series is shaping up nicely, starting on damage
-
good point common cars in real life should be common online rare ones should be rare! we are lucky to have so many modellers, so give them the right to choose whether to release it or not

if ur after an unlimited banger, i did one a while back here

would it be possible to make a Bristol Fig 8 coz they actually use the figure of 8 and it has recently been tarmaced over. i'm no expert, but would it be easy to just put a tarmac cross on the centre and alter the AI line. there is now an annual Reliant Robin Fig 8 into DD at Bristol, which could also be done on UkDirt just a suggestion pazza

cheers erik i can't get that tirebasechanger to work the exe just does nothing when i double click on it it'll probably work on other people's machines so that'll be useful cheers pazza

when i made the tutorials, i made them from a modellers perspective, not even considering the potential of their use for cheating i think anyone who is willing to cheat is a dishonest and unfair racer i have now taken off the editting physics section which seems to be a major problem and cause of controversy. can anyone think of any way to provide a tutorial to change the wheel position of a car made in 3dsmax without opening up the possibility for cheating i know i would have found a physics tutorial useful in making my car! cheers pazza ps. the other tutorials are up and running again now (not physics)
-
sorry sorry sorry i meant editting physics for making a new car like changing wheelbase i didn't think people would use it to cheat

my dad's got quite a few New Brighton and Kirkby pics, so i think i'll make a small website with the video, the pics and any info he has, or anyone is willing to contribute. if anyone has photos or info about either track that they wouldn't mind sharing, could they pm me with the text/pictures which will go on the website. cheers pazza

I just put a video on YouTube that was filmed by my grandad in the mid-1970s very rare footage - filmed on sinny cam unfortunately New Brighton's closed now, but i find the footage fascinating fascinating! interesting bit of stock car history visit http://www.simonlewis.com/sc5.html for more stock car history Notice the Invaders team - still going strong now!
