Tonight sees the culmination of the 2012 season, with not only the W&Y championship and the central series final but also the shootout finale. Danskin currently leads the points with 230 points, and Robin appears to have the second front row slot tied up with 194 points to Drumbsticks’ 157. Nezza currently holds the last qualifying position with 39 points, but all could change with a total of 160(double points) available for the shootout. Get booked in now for what promises to be an evening of great racing.

One of the championships available on Monday night will be the central series. 2011 Champion Drumbstick secured a front row start by winning his semi-final at Hednesford. Green 115 took the second semi and will be looking for his first F2 title. British champion Robin will be on row 2 alongside former world and outgoing national points champion TomD. Former Superstar Nezza 46 is on row 3 along with current superstar james 560, who having secured the flashing lights with a top 5 position in the national points would like to add a first title to his name. Jack returned from a ban to secure a 4th row starting place in his semi final, and is joined by Hoggy, who will be relishing what is possibly his best starting position in a championship. F2 admin members Southy and Si will both be looking to finish the season on a hi. Looking at drivers further down the grid, we find former F2 head admin Dave, who returned last week and showed some speed we have not seem from him in quite some time. Four drivers have already qualified for two championship races on the night, FreeW67, Samwit, Dougie, & Craig. With any drivers available on the night who have scored central series points eligible to try and secure one of the six places available in the consolation semi final a number of star drivers have the chance to make the grid. One of those will be DanSkin who also had to qualify through the consolation race for the World Final and we all know how that finished......... One thing is for sure it will be a fast and furious race, get booked in now to be part of the action.

17 Azata Azata has had a good season, finishing runner up in the novice of the year behind 305 Jakie Jnr and bagging pole for the white and yellows final by virtue of more race wins. Could be considered favourite for his first UK Dirt F2 title, especially if he gets away from the front of the grid. 641 Mav Long term UK Dirt racer Mav easily qualified on the front row despite only competing in 4 of the qualifying rounds. Not for the first time Mav has indicated he has retired from UK Dirt, few believe it will be his final decision and if he does race then his confidence should be hi after his recent final win and has a good chance of finishing in the top 3. 237 Ricklyjames Ricky has had a much better season in 2012, and would probably have been favourite for most improved driver until his wheel broke recently and some of his old habits have returned. A driver with undoubted speed, if he can get some luck and not lose his head then has a good chance of walking away with the honours. 338 Evnos Becoming a regular racer half way through the season, Evnos has shown glimpses of real talent and race craft that could see him climbing the grades quickly in 2013. Given the luck he has had in recent meetings, he will be hoping it all changes for this one. 221 Spike. 2010 English champion Spike has a reputation to match Mav when it comes to retiring, but has been around long enough to have the knowhow to win this one. If the racing spike turns up he is my tip for the win, but if the big hitting spike is in attendance those in front better buckle up tight. 954 Samwit A driver who has raw speed at some circuits, but struggles at others and not afraid to use the front bumper when needed. Probably not made the jump in speed he hoped for in 2012, but has made steady progress. Could get stranded on the outside and if he does may struggle. 220 Dougieford Recently made a return to racing, and has had a some good results having seemingly made a decision to use the front bumper less. Could be a dark horse for this race if those in front decide to make it a bumper fest. 67 Freew The American assassin, well that’s how he may like to be known but has actually turned out to be a bit of a softy. Struggled early in the season with the contact aspect of British stockcars (Plenty of contact in NASCAR if you ask me), but after a mid season break has returned with some new found speed and maturity in his driving. Will need to be more aggressive than normal in this race to get to the front. 33 jakie His son has wrapped up the novice of the year title, can Snr add a second title to the household. Known for his aggressive style, anyone around Jakie will know they have to move him and do it properly to escape his grasp. 205 Pistol One of the good guys around UK Dirt, pistol always tries his best and races with the right attitude. Not seen on the track in recent weeks, and I sincerely hope he decides to race at the end of season show case. 31 Si I have noted in the past that Simon’s fortunes in UK Dirt seem to go up and down to coincide with his real racing. Established now as a solid blue grade and if he gets the brakes early he no doubt has the potential to take home the title. 255 Stumpy Only did a handful of meetings and seemed to be finding some speed when he jumped the fence to help the admin team. If he can be tempted out for this one race it would be agood reward for all the hard work he has put in. 365 Travel Only two whites and yellows meeting competed in 2012 but an average of 8.5 points tells you all you need to know. Trav kept up his record of the only driver to be banned in every F2 season(In memory anyway) he has talked about doing one last meeting so this could be it. Even from here could win, but may choose to dish out some revenge to his rivals. 718 MartynR One thing you can say about Martin is you will not miss him in the bright green RCE. A hard hitter who may have climbed the grades a bit quicker if he was not so aggressive. Tough job to win from this deep in the pack, but sure to mix things up. 45 Stox Signs Matt has slowly improved throughout 2012 and should continue to do so next season. Probably won’t trouble the front runners in this one, but could make it in to the top 10, If Santa brings him a wheel from xmas we may start to see his real potential. 122 Craig Charles A driver who is probably too quick to be yellow, but can struggle with the rough and tumble of the blue grade. Won the final last week at Hednesford so should be brimming with confidence coming in to this one. Probably wishing he was able to do a couple more qualifying rounds, but with some luck could be up there at the end. 48 Tinman The Dutch F1 regular has had a few dabbles with F2 this season with mixed success. Another of the mid field qualifiers who is not afraid to use the bumper to mix things up. His race craft should see him progress in to the top 10 and anything can happen from there. 211 Sprat One whites and yellows appearance and one very convincing win shows sprat has the speed. Struggled a bit from red after being upgraded and has not been seen much since. If he races he will make rapid progress but may be to far back to reach the very front. 473 Rudeboy Not done as many meetings as he did in 2011, but still always cheerful when he does. Could pick up the pieces from what promise to be hard battled in front of him, but will struggle to trouble those at the very front. 961 Sparky Sparky is Banned and will not be able to race 419 F.Burhenne Another driver who races more regularly in an F1 than an F2, Fransie has struggled a bit this season. Two whites and yellow appearances with an average of 4.5 bears this out. Another driver who it would be nice to see make the grid at Birmingham. 238 Kane Kane is banned and will not be able to race 495 Lew Lew is banned and will not be able to race. 131 Gary Won on his last appearance at Kings Lynn, on a surface he prefers. Should charge through from the back, but will need some luck to make it all the way to victory lane. A top 5 is a real possibility though. Reserves in order (Due to bans at least three reserves will be needed) 319 BigAndyW 760 Ryano 101 bristolstokie 172 spikejnr 210 skegTomp 456 Combes 32 DaveW 864 JanHarm 167 spikeyonesixseven 515 Big Al 491 crewesader 619 longden 964 Allan 761 DannyGrady 400 Dippy 285 Mav_Jnr

Despite not being able to race Monday night Jakie Jnr has already done enough to secure the 2012 Novice of the Year title. Azata finished second with SkegTomP currently in third although both Evnos and StoxSigns could snatch the final podium position at Bitmingham

My bad luck in the final continued with a car hitting the pit gate in front of me, but I have to say except for 1 or two it was some of the best tarmc racing we have had for a long time

2nd one looks good on paper, do you have a link to the machine you are looking at?

As I have said to you before Budge and I said above we know we have gone to the extreme this season, and it was done for a reason and anyone who has been racing regularly this season understands why. Nobody knows what what will happen next season, judge us in June or July when the new system has had time to bed in and people know what they can and cannot get away with. We are not the only mod that decided something that needed to be done as this post clearly shows. Also check out the date and the date the additional F2 rules were announced not a coincidence I feel.
-
Sorry to see this Trav, although I would say if you all bothered to read the additional rules section they are only for the remainder of the season to sort things out as they were getting out of control and most of those racing week in week out agree they were needed. 2013 we are planning to go to rules very similar to the F1 mod so people will get a lot more rope before they hang themselves.
