  1. Unfortunately the car builder I'd been given as a contact let me down about 2 weeks to go, so I cancelled my booking as I had no chance of getting a car built in time. Shame, but I'm sure I'll get enough contact in during the planned 44 meetings this year!
  2. A little update on the progress of the previously non running 1300 Stockcar of Chris Pye aka Magpye105. We finally got the car running last week, after re-wiring the whole car, new ignition switches, running new fuel pipes through car, new fuel pump, new battery and a new starter motor..... I've got to say that the car sounds sweet and that the rebuilt BOSS engine hopefully will see me in good stead for the hectic months ahead! The car had the undercoat painted just before the snow landed at the weekend, and will be hopefully painted with its top coat this coming weekend. Thanks to Jonnyboy for selling the 'piggin brickin it' trailer to me, we'll be hopefully off to Arena Essex soon to run the engine in and sort things like brakes etc out, before getting the car set up professionally (funds allowing). Fingers extremely crossed that we'll be at Ringwood on Sat 12th March, though Arena Essex on 20th is more realisitic a target, as I am waiting for my new tow car which should be here early March. I'll post some new photos of the car in over the weekend....
  3. Excellent!
  4. JB it seems that US Legends future was as I saw it last summer when I stood down from admin that it is doomed as a mod under the umbrella! so time to wake up and drink the coffee! Thanks for your help keeping it there, but it is time to accept that not everyone is as enthusiastic about these cars as me....and my dedication towards them will be questioned this year in real life as I get my racing career back on track behind the wheel of a 1300 Stock Car stopping me from watching every meeting. As for Sat meetings.....ok in principal, consistancy is the problem....I will be able to race when I am not racing in real (however might be in the garage working on the car ready for the Sunday), and some people will be going to Sat night meets one week and not the next....so maybe drop scores or average points would be better for the championship....just a thought.
  5. Thanks buddy, might be giving you a call! Oi do you remember how you were going to paint my next race car? A deal done 18 months ago? lol
  6. In case this news has not already broken, I may be letting the cat out of the bag prior to the Autosport International Show...... However I have heard from the horses mouth this weekend that Legendary Hot Rod Racer Stuart Jackson (156) has bought an ASCAR for 2005, however he feels he is a little too old aged at 50 years young to race it, so it will be piloted by his Son Adam Jackson. The car will be at the NEC in two weeks and early tests have proved Adam to be very quick behind the wheel! Stuart had also been asked to build a Retro Rod for the Incarace series being launched this year, but wants to concentrate on Adam's ASCAR racing.
  7. Well most of you already know that I recently bought a VW Polo 1300 Stock Car....due to my work commitments in the run up to Christmas the car has sat in a workshop with little work on it!!! It needs quite a bit of work before it will hit the track! The good news is that I will be using one of the best oval racers there has been in my lifetime to help set the car up for me..... a service that is going to cost more than the car did! I plan to make my debut in the formula around March if things go to plan racing with the 105 number that was raced by my Dad in the 1980s in Hot Rods. Looking for a VERY cheap trailer if anyone knows of one sitting around, less than £300 if possible, there seems to be very little for sale at the moment which has surprised me
