Had lot's of message's in various places from people saying they are sorry to see me give up racing. This is much appreciated! Thank You! Some have said give it another go etc... and maybe if some drivers here respected others more then I wouldn't be doing this but looks like some people don't change & learn. I also had a few drivers agree with the comments I made in chat last night so obviously I'm not the only one! Cheers.

As you know i struggled with enthusiasm the back end of last year, I had no enthusiasm really at the start of the season and what I had is getting lower. I have posted messages about me retiring before which was due to work commitments but this time its enthusiasm. We spend alot of time on this game which turns out to be a full night to compete in a meeting & i honestly don't have the time to spend on it anymore. Plenty lads helped me with setups etc...Danskin, Drumb, Dave, TomD and a few others, many thanks to these guys! Hopefully see some of you at the tracks when my dad is racing. Have you got the real feel plugin installed? That made a big difference for me when I got my G27.

If it was that easy we would all be the fastest driver.

The other thing I would add is that someone else's setups won't make you faster, chances are that you would have to drive them in the same style and most people's driving style is different. Start by tweaking the gear ratio's one by one, go out and do laps. Make sure you only make small changes at a time. I have receive loads of setups in the past, some improve my times in small ways but I always have to tweak them to suit my style. I got sent a world champions setups once but there is no way that I could race with them, it works for him but no for others. Hope this advise helps. The defaults are good and can easily get you to .1 of the pace.

I have been racing these since 2008 and I normally around Brum get a 13.3, I have hit a 13.2 a few times but 13.4 average I guess so your not far off. I would say that not to aim for what the blues and reds pace are, that will come with experience and even more practice. Practice offline and online are different, try getting on the servers when others are on to get this practice. There is a guide that applies to most of the oval mods here - UKSom Setup Guide

Fair enough Liam, its just from what I remember from watching the instant replay after the incident, can't be bothered looking at replays at all lol. Just Jack then to blame lol, tut tut - a admin member spoiling the leaders race.

Agree with MoR, The opening few meetings are never good for judging much. Mixed night for me too, spun in first heat, last bend attach on Stox246 for 10th place in my 2nd heat then followed by a 2nd which I was surprised at due to the number of backmarkers that kept re-joining into the leading traffic. The final didn't go too well, at the start Johno drove across the front of me to take the inside line around the bend but we made contact causing him to spin and then when I got lapped I got fired into the leader (229) by Jack and Liam. To be honest decided to pull over as accidentally 2 peoples races had been wrecked so apologies to them. My only advise to the new guys would be to calm down on rollers, think when re-joining the racing line and watch for traffic coming through behind you. Apart from that it could be an interesting season.... WD Spike and Dan!

Just to let you know that I'm risking a messers strike - still at work but gonna drag race home to hopefully get back in time. Or just reject my booking if it could cause too much trouble.

I know what you mean Matt. I find that I can get faster laps in some chassis's than others but I go for ones that seem to be more controlable. Its just all to do with the viewing angles (had this debate before! lol)

I have mine in the F1 stock cars folder of the rFactor install but can't remember if the install of the F1 mod puts them there or if I did. If not then I can post them for you.

Nice shale car Matt, prefer the grey tarmac car you have.

Shame to see you go mate, last time I saw you race F1's you was unbeatable. All the best however you plan to spend your spare time!

Or does it look better with a dirt layer? I can't decide...
