Congratulations to DanSkin #236, Tom D #112, Tsjalle #229, LeeK #39, fast track #527, Kane_M #238, Wardiee #180 and Stox #246 for qualifying for the 2017 UKDirt F1 Shootout Series. They will contest the first round this week at Birmingham. From the UKDirt F1 rules: 6 meetings in the latter part of the season count towards the Shootout Series. The top 8 drivers in the National Points Championship before the first round will contest the Shootout Series. All drivers start with zero points and scoring is as per normal meeting points. At Shootout Series meetings the Shootout drivers will all race from Superstar, and any superstar not in the series will race from Red. At Shootout Series meetings the Shootout drivers will be gridded for A-finals in reverse Shootout points order. At half way (after 3 rounds) the bottom 4 drivers will be dropped from the Shootout Series. The last round of the Shootout Series (the Shootout Finale) will be double-point scoring. The 2017 Shootout Series Champion is entitled to silver stripes until the 2018 Shootout Series.

UKDirt F1 2017 World Final Preview Ipswich (14/09/17) Thanks to Wardieee for the poster! This Thursday it's World Final time once again! After twelve World Qualifying rounds, two Semi Finals and a Consolation Semi Final we have formed the grid. Now the only question remaining is... who will be crowned the UKDirt F1 2017 World Champion? Check out previous years World Final videos: , , & . Last year, in the last World Final to be hosted by the legendary Coventry Stadium, Frankie Wainman Jnr #515 claimed his third BriSCA F1 World Championship. The last time the BriSCA F1 World Final visited Ipswich and the Foxhall Stadium Andy Smith #391 took his second World Championship title, and started on a run of three consecutive titles. Photo credit Paul Tully Photography Road to Gold: Semi Final #1: 236 238 39 246 82 800 291 346 247 44 / 1 237 895 582 381 275 Semi Final #2: 527 43 484 653 17 48 888 468 394 100 / 589 454 Consolation Semi Final: 589 229 55 454 / 237 777 244 112 167 895 It was not possible to have a physical coin toss this year. Using the Virtual Coin Toss website the toss took place win the presence of LeeK, DanSkin, Fast Track, Stumpy, Grasser and demonstone. Fast Track #527 called tails, and the coin came up heads (click here and set the 'view a prior toss' section to: 08/10/2017 hour 17 minute 05). DanSkin #236 chose to start on the inside. World Final Grid: Reserves (in order): 237 777 244 112 167 895 381 582 275 8 281 976 221 79 125 (80) 90 555 92 451 444 472 321 49 540 599 497 359 14 622 787 29 (102) 306 316 341 766 Row 1 - DanSkin #236 // fast track #527 DanSkin #236 starts from the pole having top scored in the world qualify points and won the Skegness semi-final. A successful season has already seen the #236 machine take the European and Dutch titles. To his outside we find the Stoke Semi-final winner Fast Track #527. He has 100% attendance so far this year, and has picked up a few race wins on the shale at Bradford, Mildenhall and Scunthorpe. Row 2 - pinken #43 // Kane_M #238 An all StoxKart second row features pinken #43 and Kane_M #238. Pinken picked heat wins at both of the semi-final meetings, while his best final result this season came with a second place back at the opening Coventry meeting of the season. All but one of Kane_M’s wins this season came on tarmac, including the UK Open at Skegness back in May. Row 3 - LeeK #39 // Jack Ward #484 UKDirt stalwart LeeK #39 lines up on the inside of row three - another driver with 100% attendance in 2017 he has wins on both surfaces this year and a wealth of experience to call on for the big races. It’s interesting to note that LeeK is the only driver on this grid who finished the World Final the last time that we raced here - all the way back in 2008! Jack Ward #484 lines up his outside - with final wins at Mildenhall and the Kings Lynn qualifying round he’s shown a bit of a shale bias this season. Jack is also in position to challenge for a spot in the Shootout Series. Row 4 - Ryan Simpson #653 // Stox #246 Ryan Simpson #653 lines up on row four, having made a semi-finals by virtue of points scored at the qualifiers at the end of 2016 he comfortably guided the #653 machine to a fourth place finish. The Stoke semi-final meeting remains his only outing of the season, but successful results there remind us he should not be discounted. To his outside we find the 2017 Irish Champion Stox #246 - he has raced most meetings this season and picked up plenty of wins on both surfaces. Stox current holds the last Shootout Series qualification spot. Row 5 - Dbecks #82 // Dan W #17 Row five is an all yellow top affair. Dbecks #82 starts on the inside, with just one heat win to his name this season - from the shale of Kings Lynn in July. Dan W #17 starts on the outside and is another driver seemingly showing a shale bias with six of his seven wins this season having come on the dirt. These drivers sit third and fourth respectively in the Whites and Yellow Championship. Row 6 - Tinman #48 // BenChambers #800 Our first Dutchman makes an appearance on row six. Tinman #48 has a healthy seven race wins to his name this season including the meeting final at the Ipswich qualifying round in July. Mr F2 BenChambers #800 lines up to the outside, he has raced just eleven meetings this season and has just one heat win to his name from Arena Essex all the way back at the beginning of the season. Row 7 - Marten #291 // Ellis_Rogers #888 Our second Dutch entrant lines up behind the first, as Marten #291 takes to the grid on the inside of row seven. Marten took his first win of the season in the heats of the Skegness semi-final meeting. To his outside we find UKDirt newcomer Ellis_Rogers #888, he has acquitted himself well picking up six wins in just twelve meetings including b-final wins at Cowdenbeath and Skegness. Row 8 - BraderzzCooper #468 // CrashleyEngland #346 BraderzzCooper #468 lines up on the inside of row eight. Despite sporadic appearances this season he did manage to pick up a final win on the shale at Kings Lynn in July, and does have a significantly better points average on the shale! Real life F1 and F2 racer CrashleyEngland #346 lines up on the outside of row eight. The #346 machine has picked up four heat wins this season and is challenging for Shootout qualification. Row 9 - Kizza #247 // PaulE #394 On the inside of row nine, Kizza #247 is another driver whose sole race appearance in 2017 was to race his semi-final. Recently promoted to blue PaulE #394 lines up to his outside, after a late start to his season he already has five heat wins to his name, including one at each of the semi-final meetings. Row 10 - Tomdavison #100 // Tom K #44 Row ten gives us a row of the Toms. Tomdavison #100 lines up on the inside, and he has been a fairly regular racer this year with race wins coming on the tarmac at Cowdenbeath and shale at Belle Vue. To the outside is Tom K #44, another regular racer with wins come in the tough b-final of the Northampton European championship meeting and a heat at the Belle Vue world qualifier. Row 11 - Stijneman #589 // Tsjalle #229 Row eleven is formed by the first two drivers home in the consolation semi-final - where Stijneman #589 took the win from Tsjalle #229. Stijneman has had a relatively quiet season by his standards with just a grand national win at Bradford (Shale) to his name before taking the last chance qualifier win. To his outside Tsjalle found himself relegated to the consolation semi-final due to a ban. However, he has had a solid season with fifteen race wins to his name and comfortably holds the last superstar spot on points. Row 12 - Kbarker #55 // Frans #454 Row twelve is home to more qualifiers from the consolation semi-final. Kbarker #55 made a rare appearance to get on the grid in what was his first tarmac meeting of the season, and only his fourth overall. Frans #454 was the last qualifier from the consolation semi-final, he picked up his sole win of the season in the b-final at Kings Lynn in July, and had a good run of fourth places in finals at every meeting in the month of May! Row 13 - Wardieee #1 The defending World Champion, Wardieee #1, was unsuccessful in his quest to qualify through the Sekgness semi final, and so finds himself starting from the rear of the field. Wardieee has had a successful season showing off the gold roof in style at more than half of the meetings - including final wins at the Buxton and Northampton qualifying rounds, and of course the successful defence of his British Championship at Sheffield back in June. As in 2016, only two drivers on the grid have ever won the World Championship before - DanSkin #236 and Wardiee #1. In addition only Stox, Kane_M and LeeK have ever featured on the podium before – so we again have a good chance to add some new names to the roll of honour! Good luck to everyone challenging for the 2017 UKDirt F1 World Championship. The World Final will be the first race of the night (a prompt 8.30PM start), and a full normal meeting will follow.
