Statement released earlier on tonight on the SSCA website regarding European Result... Following the Saloon Stock Car European Championship at Cowdenbeath on 14 August 2005, the SSCA confirms that the first car across the line, #382 Danny Hunt was in contravention of rule 2 Engines – Camshafts. Hunt was found to have a cross drilled camshaft. Therefore second placed driver #17 Kenny Purdie, who passed post race scrutineering has been awarded the European Championship. Allegations have been made regarding valve spring seats, and these have been unfounded. The SSCA is fully aware of the problem with valve seats being machined and the rule being unpolicable. This matter was discussed at an SSCA meeting on 13 July with the view to introducing a new ruling for 2006.

Glad to hear youre okay Soapsy!! You did indeed look faaaaaaaar better when you popped your head around the garage door to say you were goin to Danny as what you looked like when you climbed out of the car anyway!! As you mentioned the biggest problem you had, apart from the fact you had taken a hefty knock and wasnt feeling the best you ever had fealt, was the fact the roof had bent the top of your seat down, pushing your head forward and with your seat also having the head restraints on both sides and your steering wheel being in the position it was, getting out of the car in a fit state would have proven difficult nevermind in a dazed and upside down position!!! As for the issue of folk questioning Danny Hunts "legality" as such in previous championships he has won, Well that aint nothing but a load of old 's as the cars has been spot on when we checked it before. CHEERS folks , that's my rant over!! P.S, Nice picture there of the damage firestorm and indeed on Crashattack site,Looks like a pro took them dunnit!!

Must admit I did expect there to be a bit more action, but none the less it was a decent enough meeting Was stood in the pits when the women went out on track on Noons motor and waited patientlly for them to come back into the pits to get a picture but unfortunately they all got off the car, got dressed and walked back in!! Only 9 'loons turned up which was also unfortunate, only to be expected though I suppose with the fixtures up and coming in the next few days with Knockhill on Wednesday then the British weekend at Taunton at the weekend Personally I think Buxton would be an ideal track for a major championship for the 'loons as the nature of the track provides good fast racing with decent contact possible without causing too much damage as 499 showed in heat 1 after being spun out early doors by 401 and he then set about chasing the pack, knocking wide all who he came up on. Cool video clip yet again there Splinter, could only have been a few feet away from yourself once more.(We'll meet up sometime I'm sure!! ) P.S 65 or so pics from the meeting now on my site (No (.) (.)'s unfortunately!!)

Cant unfortunately comment on the Fat Louis situation young Leaskie as thats just too much for an old fella like me to manage nowadays!! Perhaps you should have ventured along the road a bit and tried the delights of the Flirtz's lap dancing establishment as I spoke to a few folk who had sampled the entertainment as such. Biggest dissappointment for my pre/post racing entertainment was the removal of the dodgems from the amusement arcade along the front. Was really wanting to go back and try and emulate Soapsy and his crews exploits of last year when they managed to get a dodgem clean out of the "track" and put a rather tasty hole in the wall!! (AHHHHH!!!! so thats the reason they werent there anymore!!)

whatever floats yer boat mate!! Certainly wouldnt expect you to be subjected to that again!!! As a matter of interest,Am I correct in assuming that I can take "MY" racing and shove it you know where,as a result of "MY" attitude?? There's a first time for everything right enough I suppose!! Have a nice day now ya hear!!

Which is probably the self same statement Lindsay Wilson said about Gordons manouvere at the hairpin in Sundays 'loon final!! Twas quality!!! (Of the good kind I hasten to add Hack!! )

Know exactly where youre coming from Ham,but its a shame that peoples opinion of an individual is judged on another "persons" actions.(The guy does his "talking" as such on track now,not on the terracing) I aint condoning Seniors actions one little bit, but I'd be VERY surprised, IF anyone who was put in the same position, would do/say otherwise (Ive no doubt some folks will say different but I doubt they will ever be put in that particular kind of situation to prove otherwise) Away from the "pantomime" as you rightly put it, I thoroughlly enjoyed my weekends racing, with the 1s,2s and SSCs putting on a good show over the course of the weekend.(Cant comment on any of the other formulas racing unfortunately as that was time. Hopefully I'll have some pics from the weekend on my site soon!!
