  9. My nickname was derived from the same circumstances in the way that my online racing number came about.. When spannering for Dean Bridges, saloon 69,Deano's main spanner man, Eric was a regional rep for a mobile vehicle servicing and repair company called AUTOMEK, and his wife Mo gave him the nickname of "Eckymek" and as I was helping out I adopted the nickname of Andymek... So nowadays nearly 15 years on myself and Eric are still working together as such albeit in a different capacity but still stock car realted as both him and myself are scrutineers at Cowdenbeath Another piece of useless information for ya Eric still hasnt forgotten his "roots" as such from when he first begun his racing involvement, Mikeys car from 2006 adopts the self same colours as Deano's did 'way back in 92...I bet yer all glad I told ya that!!!
  10. My particular race number was after 69 Dean Bridges whom I spannered for in 1992 Not for any other reason as a fair few have suggested along the years
  11. Some more here if required...

  15. Accurate enough to tell who's using far more than they should though
  16. Correct!!! There isnt a 100% proven method as to just how many coats of softener applied to tyres results in a certain reading, we've had readings near the minimum of 40 on the durometer when drivers have said they've used 3 coats, and readings in the high 40's/low 50's when they claim less coats have been used.. During tests throughout the season we've found a brand new slick with no softener applied at all reads around the 60/62 mark and a decent starting point we've found to be generally correct for a tyre treated with softener BEFORE racing is around about the 50-54 mark as in most instances during a normal race of 15-20 laps the reading tends to drop down to around about the mid 40's which is fine. One thing to bear in mind though is if a reading of say, 44 is found after a heat of 15 laps you have to then take into account the final being slightly more laps, which equates to more heat going into the tyres and also consider the weather conditions, may sound silly but racing over a weekend in most cases has the Sunday temperatures higher due to it being run during daylight, doesnt sound much but could well make a difference Dunno if you'll be online to read this before you set off to Cowdie today Chops, but if not I'll catch up with ya tonight (Dunno why I typed that as IF indeed you are away you wont know LOL) Andymek.
  17. It does look kinda gay dont it!!!!
  18. Good stuff there Chops!! I've got a couple of other vids on disc somewhere, along the same idea. One is of the late ,great Ayrton Senna in his Honda Powered Maclaren racing against a Honda Prelude or summit similar, and the other is the one where Jeremy Clarkson has a run out in a Cougar against Colin Macrae in his Focus WRC and Johnny Herbert I think it is in the Benneton F1... I've heard through the grapevine that Knockhill were trying to do summit similar with James Dillon in a Bluey,Gunner in his Nova and Pete Mcvay in his 206 Hot Rod...
  19. Not got round to getting myself RFactor as yet, aint sure if my ole PC can cope with it to be honest.Have had it for over 6 years now and the only "upgrades" to it being a NVidia 128Mb Graphics card and an extra 256 of RAM knocking it up to a whopping 384. Probably better just holding off just now until I can do a decent upgrade and get RFactor when that happens.. Here's my PC setup......
  20. Dunno if this'll turn out okay but here,s video footage of the affore-mentioned ill fated drag incident. http://www.dragstercrash.com/

  23. Handed a couple of spanners over to him more like Thnx 4 the replies folks, always wondered the reasoning behind the ruling Andymek.
  24. Dont race UKDirt 2's, and I aint pepared to go and crawl under a stone myself Pedz (wonder if you'd give the same reply to someone else?) I've always been curious to why this "ruling" came about as to not being able to use a replica of a real life skin or whatever , I've only heard folk mention it, never actaully bothered to find out where its stated but what exactly is the reasoning behind it They do say "immitation is the greatest form of flattery" Andymek (Still currently above stone level)
  25. I'd like to echo all the comments previously mentioned Enjoy yer day Boss and many thanks for your invaluable contribution to UKDirt Andymek.
