Your always gonna struggle to get Scottish drivers on a Saturday night Sparky.
Seems a lot of Stock car folk go out on a Saturday in Scotland!
-
8 cars for the 2nd heat and the final at Cowdie last night can't be good news...
Latest reports from Skegness suggest saloons are on their knees as an entertainment
Personally I wish there was some magic formula for revitalising the 'BIG' saloons as on their day there's nothing that can compete with them for getting the crowd on their toes.
-
Doesn't matter how much they cost!
They still make a lovely 'cRuNcH' as they hit the fence!!
-
Yep me and the ankle biters will all be there
Splodge Posted Today, 01:41 AMcool idea, but think i am at mildo on 2nd having a few pints . . of coke banghead2.gif This driving lark ain't as good as they make out. Good luck anyway
And if Splodge is going then looks like I must've picked a good meeting

I'm sorry but I don't get what you are going on about!
If some Americans on Aussie can get a team together then be my guest! But if not maybe we can have two teams from each country.
Come on England and Scotland! NZ have only one driver to confirm and one driver who is interested then we will be wanting a challenge!!!
Get ready to be hammered!!!

Oval Racing News are currently running a text poll on the future of Saloon Stock Car Racing.
At all tarmac tracks in the UK, National Saloons (the 2litre variety) have struggled to turnout reasonable grids for domestic meetings. The old chestnut of 1300 saloons being a viable alternative has been raised again and ORN wants to know the fans feelings on this.
As one of the most 'cosmopolitan' stock car forums around I'd like to give ukdirters the opportunity to vote too. Once the text voting has closed at the end of June, I'll add the two polls together and let you know the overall results.
Poll runs throughout June for inclusion in a July issue of ORN.
If anyone wants to link this poll from other forums / websites please feel free.
So simply put, the question is do you think that the tracks that race National Saloons should struggle on in the hope that 2 litre Saloons will pick up or do they change over to Spedeworth/PRI style 1300's?

I would like to see a event like this happen in the near future.
I will get a team of 6 NZ drivers (more if needed) to take both UK and Scotland on in some Banger teams races!
But only one thing. It would either be your night (NZ morning) or your morning (NZ night)!
Please vote in the poll and share your thoughts about it!
A team event would be great BUT;
Sad thing is aaza that your probably gonna meet with a lot of sceptic reaction from the ukdirt lot as you are the third NZ based driver that has tried to organise a 'team' event in one of the mods.
Your two predecessors were full of enthusiasm but discovered that the huge time difference put their fellow countrymen off!

I don't know if it's something like a particular car or texture that's too much for the 16mb of graphics memory. Make sure not to select high detail cars maybe?
If it's a low profile type of computer, then cards are hard to come by (half-height), or if it's PCI only (no AGP) then it's not worth wasting money on upgrading the gfx even if you could.
Thanks for that John.
I did turn the graphics settings right down on his PC yesterday and it made it a little better.
I guess he's gonna have to be happy racing offline in the meantime and start saving his pennies for a new PC!

He's got a 5 year old 'Tiny' PC that the local computer shop has told him he can't get an upgraded Graphics Card for.

LOL Fozz you should take that St Andrews Cross of your profile!!
I remember the good old days when it didn't matter who won as long as it was a Scot. You could always give them pelters the following week when they were back home!!
Anyways well done to Big Maus! (or is it wee Maus?) Don't forget your responsibility to race in Scotland with the Gold Roof at least once next season!
