If you know nothing about how the mod is progressing, then how do you know how many cars have been/not been modeled for it yet? Maybe you should try posting in the relevant part of this forum, like computer help or general support, NOT the skinpainting section. Maybe you should consider asking on either the RFactor site or by posting on Tads site where he IS actualy working on an RFactor banger mod?

When trying to get my laptop graphics driver updated, someone on the the drivers site advised me to un-install the current driver and then try to install the new one. I did that and got the same message as Skitzo. Try a system restore to a point where he didnt have the problems or contact whoevers graphics card hes using.

All sorted now guys, well everything apart from the mod launcher, but that can wait. It was the graphics card driver, aparently some laptop manufacturers dont like you using the graphics card manufacturer updates unless they are released by them only. They code something into your graphics card so that it wont accept any ugrades apart from theirs. Cheers for the ' right click and run as administrator' advise, that works great! Still cant get the mod launcher to work, even after pointing the ruddy thing to the right folder with the run/ command..it always seems to reset itself to pointing at my desktop for some un-known reason. Another problem I have is that all the cars in game seem to have most or part of them missing from view. If Id known Vista was going to cause this much trouble, I wouldve deleted it and installed XP....unfortunately Ive installed to much stuff on the poxy thing now to go and delete it all.

My missus bought me a new laptop for xmas. Ive installed Rfactor with no problems, so far, but heats not been so straight forward. Offline I can use the banger mod with no problem, but, if I try to use the car file manager, I get the message " Component ' MSINET.OXC' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid". Ive also installed the swiss knife NH ML2 tool, and that tells me: "ML2 is pointed into the wrong folder. Please choose " Locate NHeat..." from " file " menu and browse to Run/Data folder again. Then restart MOD Launcher 2. Application has been frozen". Ive also heard that as its a dul core, one may need to be switched off? before being able to play heat online, is this true and if so, how does a pc dumbo go about doing that? Cheers, the pee bag.

I have a Sunbelt Firewall and to race I have to completely turn that off else I cant connect so its not just a Zone Alarm thing.

Erik, I can see your point, BUT, is it not entirely up to the modeler/spin-painter/font maker if they wish to fully release something? Take the elusive Granny coupe limo, in real life they are rare so the guy that modeled it in game decided that to ' keep it real'. He didnt want it released generaly. It was all his time and effort taken to make the car, so IMO, its up to him what he does with it. Ive got the template BUT before anyone asks, IM NOT SENDING IT OUT! Its not for general use, and if certain people got hold of it, the poxy thing would be posted for download here, on ovalshite and every other online banger racing forum before you could blink, every free league would for the next 3 weeks be full of grids of Granny Coupe limos, all sign written in rodders unrelased font! My advise to anyone that desperately wants a certain font or car template thats not bee realeased is this, if you want it that badly, dedicate countless hours of YOUR time and effort to making your own version, then once youve done that YOU can decided to either release it for everyone, or if you want to keep it just to yourself. Until such time that anyones done that, they are completely ignorant ( in my eyes) to come on here and slate people for wanting to keep their own hard work for themselves. And thats^^^^^ not aimed at anyone in particular, its ment on a general basis.

Allstar has no need to apologise. Hes made actual cars for the game, does that not count as an add on? The 180B has been released, the JagE has not as the models not quite right for the game. Rather than insult someone thats spent countless hours of their making an ' add on' for the game, why not thank him rather than throwing abuse in his direction? The problem here is that some people spend their time making stuff, and its up to them if its made readily available for release or not, the problem then stems from the hangers who harass people endlessly until they give in and let them have stuff, not to be released generaly. The problem is these hangers dont give two hoots about the makers wishes and then give em out willy nilly. Im sure if Rodder was around, he would be spitting the dummy, and I dont blame him. Go on the norton/symantec website....you need to install an un-installer for their cruddy software...it takes bloody ages for the program to work once youve download it, dont worry if it seems to be doing nothing...it took mine half an hour to start up.

Dont think the Celica is used in any leagues atm mate, think it got banned for being too fast. more like it crashed too many other peoples games whilst in use
