Hi all, Below you can download the new skinpacks ready for the Autumn Series. The packs are rather large, but thats understandable with 4 skins for each person, but we will save by the fact that we won't need skinpacks for grade changes all the time! Resizing skins will probably be a solution if this goes to UKDirt next year. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD TARMAC PACK CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD SHALE PACK Cheers MoR

A very interesting observation Tosh, I just wished you'd said sooner, lol (more on that in a minute). I will test this properly when i get some time so i can update my skin guide etc - would be a very simple solution to a very frustrating issue. I've noticed whilst doing skins that there has been quite a few of skins with these holes - the reason i've not mentioned it is because i haven't got any time at all to chase these things up. I am renaming everybody's skins so that they all fit the new filing arrangements etc........... well, you join up the dots! Obviously i've no time to eradicate this now (sorting all 39 sets of skins has taken me hours on end so far), its something we'll have to grin and bare for this skinpack i'm afraid (its not too serious, maybe 5-10% have the holes, the rest don't) but i suppose thats what this Autumn League is about, finding problems/solutions and sorting them out for the real thing

U'll need to sign up to ukdirtf1s please m8, just to reserve yourself a number, so we don't get any clashes etc. Your not obliged to race heat at all by just signing up. Cheers MoR

Yep, the Autumn League is open to all UKDirtF1 members, and u can race when you like
-
List updated The way the skins are going to arranged this time around is that they will have their own team folder: UKDirt (Tarmac) and UKDirt (Shale). Inside that, everybody has their default skin, veh file and skins folder. The default skin is just what i've picked out of your four skins, and referenced too in the veh. The skins folder is named the same as your veh file but with 'Skins' on the end, and contains your other 3 grades. The game recognises this is where to look for other skins, and then lists them in game. It'll make more sense when u can see it for yourself. Then once in game, u just select your name from the list, and then u can click the 'skins' tab to change skins. Hope this helps MoR

List updated Try and get skins in asap please, then I might be able to spend some of Saturday out of the house

Well - there's not much more I can say than what an excellent nights racing! Every race was a challenge, with concentration required constantly. Planted a few hits that worked, planted a few that didn't, always a lottery and thats whats great about it. Had two particular highlights of the night. The first was in the final; it was a manic race, but not carnage, just hectic, with pile ups here and there to dodge, really was just like the real thing! I was riding around in 3rd or 4th for alot of the race, then found myself in a battle with Mart and Hutch. And you can guess where I ended up courtesy of Mart?! (see the gif below) Was a superb hit right into the fence which left me with some damage to the outside rear, so I found it hard to get any decent laps in after that, but a great new dimension to online racing! The second highlight really topped off the night for me, and it occured in the GN. Somehow, Scrapman ended up ripping his inside rear wheel off, and was sat stranded on the racing line on turns 3 and 4. It was just great watching all the cars parting inside and outside in avoidance, just like the real thing! Not the mention the stray wheel which did a few rounds of the track aswell! Awesome stuff, and looking forward to next week. Cheers MoR PS - two screenies and a gif attached

Hi all, As promised, I will be making a skinpack ready for the UKDirt rF F1 Stockcars Test Series, which starts on 07/10/07. Please read carefully so that you understand entirely whats going to happen: Full series details will be announced by Danskin sometime this week We will be running grades with correct skins. These grades will be active, meaning that they will change after every meeting, and could even change during a meeting if we see fit Grades for 07/10/07 will be determined by the following criteria: Performance in the 30/09/07 meeting, UKDirt grades, Graders discretion. These will be announced nearer the day. Therefore, rather than creating a new skinpack each and every week, I will require skins for all grades: White, Yellow, Blue and Red. These will then be packed in game so you can select whatever grade you are using the skins tab on the car select screen. So, to confirm, what I require is: 1 Zip File (per surface) containing 4 dds files of your skin, 1 with a white roof, 1 with a yellow roof, 1 with a blue roof and 1 with a red roof. Naming is not important, and you do not need to include a veh file. Please zip up your shale and tarmac skins separately. Upload to this thread please. Skins on other threads will be politely ignored AS THIS TEST SERIES IS OPEN TO ONLY UKDIRT PAID MEMBERS, PLEASE USE YOUR REGISTERED UKDIRTF1 NUMBER ON YOUR SKINS TO AVOID CLASHES An F1 specific skin guide can be found HERE. Deadline for skins is Midnight 5th October 2007. REMEMBER, THESE SKINS ARE ONLY FOR THE NEXT 8-10 WEEKS, SO THEY DONT NEED TO BE ANYTHING SPECIAL - SAVE YOUR SKINPAINTER SOME HASSLE AND KEEP IT SIMPLE. HE/SHE ONLY HAS UNTIL FRIDAY TO GET LOADS OF THESE DONE! Please do not miss this skinpack as this may be the only chance you get to upload skins for this test series, unless demand is high!!!! a list of received skins can be found at the bottom of this post!!! Cheers MoR PS - To avoid problems, please don't use your new personal skins before I've released the pack!!!! Received Skin Sets Albz 106 Cod 120 Dubstar 123 Damien 129 Kruiz 136 MoR 137 Kev 149 Fozz 155 Fourwinds 156 Aub 188 Kendo 192 Michael 2 Bruce 201 Pedz 212 Mac 219 Grasser 233 Danskin 236 Bully 257 Cap 27 Mr Beef 286 Ironmac 288 Marten 291 GG 298 Johno 3 Matty 300 Woka Snr 312 DaveW 329 Budge 313 Hutch 331 LeeK 39 Drumbstick 41 FatDave 488 Big Al 515 Mav 525 Scrapman 53 Samson 63 Dino 66 Dazza 684 Tosh 8 Total: 39

Just to note Kruiz, or anyone who thinks their pc might have a fit with rF online, have you tried playing with the graphics settings? My PC used to go really jittery when online, so i used to go into the graphics settings in game and turn things like special effects and shadows to off, and if i needed to, i also knocked the opponent/player detail right down. Of course, this results in a far less pleasing visual experience, with no shadows and blurry skins, but u'll be able to enjoy racing with more cars a lot more smoothly. Whats more, presuming you've got rF set up to save all your replays, when your done online and fancy a look over them, you can turn your graphics settings back up and enjoy them in better quality if you wish, as it should be less strain on your pc as it isnt have to deal with online connections and the like anymore. I hope this helps. Cheers MoR PS - This is drastic, but recently I reformatted my pc, and that made a hell of a difference..... i can now race on full detail without a single problem, whereas before I was needed to exercise the steps above. Because of this, I'm looking at ways at keeping my pc clean, such as storing all my music on my external HD etc. Like i say, drastic, but I've noticed a difference.

MoR 137, car in the pack Just to confirm: a skinpack for those without skins will be released before/shortly after the series commences. There will not be a skinpack done for this meeting, due to the lack of time between now and sunday. (e.g. three days isn't enough time for all 'new racers' to get thier skins prepared). Keep an eye out on sunday evening for a post

Hello No date has yet been announced for the full release of the mod, but i'd imagine it is a few months off yet. There may be another beta release before that too. However, I can shed some light on the content of the mod, which hopefully will make it worth waiting for, especially for offline players like yourself. As it stands at the moment, the full mod currently has 9 chassis to race on, with a grand total of 72 real life skins planned at the moment. Both numbers may even increase yet, and i very much doubt they will decrease, cause we're well on the way to that big number! So personally, I think its well worth waiting for, I'm certainly looking forward to it. Hope this helps! MoR

Hmmmm yes, when making a big life changing decision like that you should give it no thought whatsoever and you should not be allowed to change your mind..... Well done 390, sounds like a cracking race! EDIT - spelling

Looking superb GG, keep up the great work, and hopefully a real track once you've got this one done?
-
Maybe taking 'after the wf' a little too literally lol....... i know for a fact im not available next week so its unlikely that we'll be running ukdirt test meetings then. The main reason for not starting until after the wf was so not to devalue the event, or cast a shadow, so to speak. We'll keep you posted, and i'll be releasing another skinpack for those who missed the last one. Hopefully some more meetings can run in the meantime, thanks for the effort put in so far chaps.

Crikey, didn't think I did that well lol! Some excellent racing - topped off by the last bend of the GN! I had been chasing Hooty for the win for the final few laps, and with 1 to go i hit a dead car and spun out. I rejoined in around 7th place between PaulP and Ironmac. I spotted that we were on the last lap, so took a dive at Iron - I managed to connect with his nerf rail, putting him slightly up on two wheels and out towards the armco. The impact caused me to get a little slide going, and it would have worked, had I not at had PaulP up the inside, who consequently half spun me. As we sorted ourselves out, Ironmac was recovering, and we all took a race to the line, finishing Iron, Paul and then me i believe. Excellent stuff! Just a couple of screenies below, one of some good wheel to wheel action with HaaDee and one of that last bend just as me and Paul started to recover! Wish i could race next week - i've got the bug now

Hi On a lighter note, here's a thread for some feedback from the meeting. Thanks to Drumbstick for running it, great job mate. I thoroughly enjoyed it tonight, it was my first proper test of the beta, and my first try under proper race conditions. The grades/rollers worked very well and seemed to reduce carnage id seen in the past from clutch starts closed grid! Obviously, there was a fair few crashes tonight but it was to be expected, but I think it lead to most having a good chuckle, I for one enjoyed the challenge, and this is coming from someone who lost out on two possible wins due to crashed cars! So thanks for a brilliant evening, and hopefully everyone else felt the same! Looking forward to the next one. MoR PS - for those interested, i'll knock up a skinpack for those without skins in a couple of weeks. Glad to see the demand is rising, which means that there's more people trying this out!

RIP Colin
