Jimmy Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 Yeah I hope to be racing, well going round
Mart 870 Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 I hope i`m wrong Kruiz and it`s just straight forward for you Lol no problem Si, i did think it was a bit strange! Good luck Jimmy at Brum, i`ll be there but drunk so i`ll talk alot but make even less sense than normal!
Kruiz 136 Posted August 12, 2009 Report Posted August 12, 2009 So do I mate but nothings simple, going out now to get the engine out just so we can get at the clutch Can't wait for Birmingham though!
Kruiz 136 Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Really busy day! Up early this morning to get the engine out and clutch changed and put it all back again hoping we'd make it in time for Barford tomorrow unfortunately didn't quite make it, as we ran out of time (got too dark to continue) at around 10pm and the rads still not in, neither is the exhaust or bonnet and nothings really connected still need an hour or so on it but it will at least be out for Birmingham next Saturday! Woohoo Monster job, took us about 14 hours today using the primitive equipment we have lol! Some pics of our professional race outfit ( ) for your amusement..
Mart 870 Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 Nice one mate. Just a little tip for next time thought - remove the engine from bellhousing leaving the gearbox and prop in place, the engine will come out much easier then as you`ll only have to move it forward a couple of inches then straight up.
Simon31 Posted August 16, 2009 Author Report Posted August 16, 2009 Good job Kruiz! what Mart said is alot better and would of saved you a bit of time! Update on my car = after getting all the bits we broke fixed i now have the axle etc all in and the is just about ready, just gotta fit a new brake pipe, bleed brakes and give the joints a oil up and we are done which ill do in the morning get the van sorted and we are ready lol! Anyone going to Brum come over and say hi (wear old gear as its only me and me old man going!) as if i wreak it need team ukdirt to help lmao! Si#31
Kruiz 136 Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 (edited) LOL Cheers guys. A lot of hard work, now spent a total of 20 hours on the car over the weekend but all ready for Birmingham now, just wing to put back on and the odd nut to tighten. We got the lot out as we would have had to undo all the bellhousing from the engine whilst it was in the car and the nuts are not at all easily accessible, we couldnt undo most of them from where they were and it was a lot easier putting the gearbox and engine back together while it was out, easier to manouvre into position. Made sense to us anyway lol We didnt have too much trouble getting the box out with it anyway. Kyle Edited August 16, 2009 by Kruiz 136
Mart 870 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I`ve just noticed something on your car Kruiz... your roof plate is the wrong grade colour, it needs to white or a non grade colour. It wont be a problem while you race from the back but might cause problems when you come to race at the front of the grid
Kruiz 136 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Really? I intended to go off the front this weekend you think they'll pull me up on that? Can't even see it with wing on! lol
Mart 870 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 (edited) Incarace are a right funny bunch so for the sake of 5 mins with a tin of dulux it might save you some hastle, they even marked my log book for having red down tubes on the cage when they should have been white! Edited August 17, 2009 by Mart 870
Kruiz 136 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 PFFFT! I'm not painting them too lol White roll bars would blind me trying to see out. I might have a go at painting the eoof white if I get a min though, ta ofr the advice mate.

Simon31 Posted August 24, 2009 Author Report Posted August 24, 2009 Thanks for those pics Vixtro, always glad of them to add to my collection! What a weekend of racing i was well and truely shatterd after both days and traveling 500 miles! Brum was a real good expericiance, learned alot, was nice to be well on the pace to with getting the bumper in and gaining postions! think i managed a 11th in the heat which wasnt bad, not sure where i was in the consi and pulled in for the GN as my stearing collumb came loose and i could feel it sliping lol, Taunton was good, no results as there was bearly 100 f2s there, but enjoyed the ride lol, bit of damage on the front, but can fix it lol Was nice to meet Kruiz, Jimmy, Mart (noe i no what he looks like lol), Pedz, think thats was it lol! Simon#31 (sorry for spelling)

Simon#31 (sorry for spelling) Good to meet you too mate, although never saw you once in 3 races on track! lol Had a reasonably good meeting considering was only my second time out, but thought the car was really unpredictable resulting in some air time when I hit the wall exiting the corner on the odd occasion lol Bit disapointed with how bad the car was in practise so decided to go from the back again in my heat and unfortunately it never got any better. Diff came unwelded at the end of consi although we only realised that when we got it home so I raced the GN with an unlocked diff too lol At least i finished all my races which is always a positive. Belle Vue next Monday is my next meeting.
Kruiz 136 Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 But before Belle Vue, racing Birmingham again on Saturday
Kruiz 136 Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Footage of Birmingham on 29th August. A few tweaks in practise later and the car is getting there now. Almost fast enough to keep me satisfied, hopefully can make it go faster yet though lol. No idea what results I got, as the meeting isn't on mylaps not in top 10 in any race anyway but qualified for my first final just for finishing my heats haha Had a wet Belle Vue meeting tonight, really enjoyed it but got in a fair few pile ups and took a few heavy knocks, bent the bumper, steering rack and track rods, a wheel and possibly more not had a proper look over it yet lol Some footage of it up later this week.
Kruiz 136 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 (edited) Footage from Belle Vue quickly put together, theres Heat and consi in there. Unfortunately the footage jumps a bit due to a scratch disc that was used to record it. Got knocked around a bit and I can now see that theres much more damage than I thought so I won't be out again for 3 - 4 weeks at least Enjoyed breaking it though and thats what matters lol Edited September 3, 2009 by Kruiz 136
Superstox Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Hi Kyle , Just wanted to say you are really doing a good job as you are on a small budget and never raced before. Keep up the racing and start between the whites your car is faster than te other whites ive sawn. Greetz , Francois Damen Stockcar F2 H2(holland)
Kruiz 136 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Thanks Fracois, yes off the white grade next time, wherever that may be! lol
Jimmy Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Raced at nir today in a new car, i went off the back as i hadnt done any laps in it prior to the heat! was going to do some practice but ran into some problems while changing diff lol lol pulled off in the heat as was running on 3 because plug lead had come off. Finished consi and gn and got used to car a bit but it was pushing on but we will have a play about and hopefully it wont for long lol Next meeting I hope to be at is brum on 17th october, would of been at brum this coming sat but have to work on my dads f1 as have head gaskets to replace lol only pic i found from catwoman on ftooz so thanks lol
Kruiz 136 Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 (edited) WD Jimmy Same for me would of been at Birm this sat but too much work to do still from Belle vue and rule changes not helped much. So Buxton october 11th next for me, and first time off the front, then 17th october birm assuming its in reasonable codition after buxton lol Birm 17th oct, me and jimmy finally grace the track together... should be fun! I can't wait Edited September 20, 2009 by Kruiz 136
