Wardieee Posted July 15, 2014 Report Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls! This coming Monday will see UKDirt host their annual F2 European Championships at Primo 1 International Raceway AKA NIR. The European Championship is one of the most prestige championships, and with so many new drivers joining us for this 2014 season its seriously hard to name the favourites with so much new talent taking to the track. The European Championship will be open to the top 20 available National Points contenders, with the grid being drawn 'live' in public at the real event. The European Championship will be the second race of the evening, following the Last Chance Qualifier which is open to anyone. The top 4 drivers in the LCQ will form the last two rows of the grid. - THE CONTENDERS - National Points leader Kane 238 is of course the first to qualify for the big race. Kane racing his trusty Redline powered machine. Will the old skool engineering take this young gun to victory in the big race? Current World Champion DanSkin sits second in the National Points Championship making him the second man to qualify for the 2014 European Championship. DanSkin may be a multiple World, National and British Champion however Dan will be racing to take his first ever European Championship win! The current F1 European Champion is still yet to take the title in the tooz, with his only top 3 finish taking place back in 2012 when the current F1 World Champion took the chequers for his second time. Guess who's next? Of course its the F1 World and National Points Champion making himself the third man to qualify for the F2 Euros. TomD will of course looking for his third European Championship in the tooz with two previous victories in 2010 and 2012. Tom is no stranger to winning, and although he is mainly focused on the F1's nowadays you can't rule out this multi championship winning man from this seasons 2014 F2 European Championship! Pantomime Villain Wardieee is the fourth person to ensure his place in the F2 European Championship. Wardieee joined us at the back end of 2013 and managed to sneak on the back of a semifinal after just one WCQR before driving himself to a Row 4 position in the semis at Mendips last year. Wardieee has also had a good run in the WOS again going from the back of the grid to second back at Mildenhall last season. His 2014 campaign has be just as successful with multiple wins and of course a fourth place in last weeks UKOpen however will Wardieee be able to pull a victory out of the bag or will be find himself settling for second best yet again in his UKDirt career. LeeK aka The Boss takes the fifth qualifying position. LeeK has been around for years and is a man with many victories under he belt. LeeK will be looking to take his trusty RCE to victory once again around NIR. LeeK has kept a steady pace this season keeping himself in those vital superstar positions, and with a fairly recent Shoot Out victory could 2014 be the year that LeeK takes another championship? 151 Dode is another driver who is no stranger to the European Championship. The current 2014 F2 National Champion took the glory back in 2011 in his F1 stock car. The Scottsman has been absolutely flying this season, with his old skool approach to racing in his Bingley Built chassis powered by the finest locked diffs. Will Dode race his way to victory or will he find himself pushing-on into the fence in this 2014 European Championship! 246 Stox joined UKDirt at the start of the 2013 season and after a tough year Stox was crowned English Open Champion back at Coventry in October 2013. Stox has had a fairly good season keeping himself in the points most weeks. Stox is no stranger to a championship win and after DanSkin took his glory back at Buxton will we see Stox one up Dan and beat him to his first European victory? Head Admin Dave is the next the next driver to qualify. Dave has raced for years and is of course an ex world champion! 2014 has seen a mixed bag of results for Dave however there will be high hopes for the European Championship and with the right draw Dave could easily walk away with this one! Hunter is one of the first novices to qualify for the European, and with real life racing links could some inside knowledge give Hunter the edge over his fellow competitors and take the win? With a good grid slot Hunter could easily have quite and impact on this race, however if he is drawn down the grid then things might not be looking too bright for the #52 machine Liam Powell is the second of the Powell brothers to qualify for the 2014 European Championships. Liam has had a pretty ruff ride this season, however Liam is yet another of the drivers with an older chassis even though it was brand new for the start of this 2014 season. If Liam can get a good start, he could be one to watch! Ex real life driver #31 Si Bassett is the next to step up the the challenge of the European Championship. Simon found himself a brand new RCE for this season and so far he has been plodding along nicely in it with various trips across the country. Simon has got more than enough experience to win this one, and with the right grid draw he could simply have it in the bag. Lord Barron AKA CB is the next of the bunch to qualify. CB and Wardieee of course sailing the Ohh Arrr Motorsport flags for yet another season. The Ohh Arrr duo have the knowledge to setup and winning car with solid victories so far this season. CB one of the only men to travel up from the West Country so will CB be planning to take it back to the South West? 981 MartinB yet another driver who's got an awful lot of experience. This season Martin has been going well on both Tarmac and Shale however he hasn't been about much over the recent weeks. Has Martin been tinkering in the garage perfecting his Northampton setup and will he be blowing the dust off the RCE for this European Championship. A top 10 grid slot could see Martin sneak to the front however will he find the rythem to challenge for the title? Jakeeey is the next to qualify, and with a cheeky downgrade earlier this month it would seem Jake is taking full advantage of his blue roof. Jake managed to qualify on pole position at last weeks UKOpen however he didn't seem to have the legs to take the victory. If the random grid works out in Jakes favour NIR could see the 691 machine take the victory. Mitch Wells is next to qualify. This grasstrack specialist is in his first season of online racing. Mitch will certainly be in contention for novice of the year, and with likes of Hunter and Ashley England challenging him, Mitch has certainly done well to keep competing so far. Could Mitch's Autograss attitude see him take a win from the random gird? lloydy is another fairly new driver with just a season or twos experience. lloyd has raced a fair few meetings the season and of course he was the first person to win an official 2014 final. We know lloyd can go well on the muddy stuff however will Matt be able to transfer some talent onto the tarmac? 188 Aub is the next to reserve his place in the 2014 European Championships. Aub is on the comeback after many seasons of some more laid back racing the 188 machine is back! Aub will be looking to make his first rFactor F2 European Championship with this nearest victory coming in 2009 when he finished second to Jimmy 716. Aub has certainly been on the pace over recent weeks so watch out for that #188 car. 47 Samson is yet another driver with a lot of experience within online racing however Samsons skills seem to work out best in the clockwise formulas such as 2L Saloons. Samson can certainly make a pinto shift, and after only recently returning to UKDirt Samson has done well to qualify before some of the UKDirt veterans. Real life 846 Ashley England will also be starring in the UKDirt F2 European Championships in his 146 machine. Ashley seemed to struggle at Skegness, however will he be able to turn it around and take victory at NIR? Veteran racer Spike takes the final qualification place, and of course its quite a special achievement for someone who has raced so few races this season. Spike has managed to make the jump from yellow to red, however with other commitments we haven't seen the 221 machine on track much recently. I'm sure that everyone will agree that seeing the 221 machine manages to make it to the track, the experience of Spike could certainly see a championship win. The grid as it stands today with drivers booked in bold and banned or drivers not taking part in red 238 - 236180 - 11239 - 151 246 - 48852 - 38031 - 167 981 - 691356 - 8188 - 47146 - 221 next 15 reserves in order: 237, 589, 384, 848, 443, 394, 276, 397, 474, 653, 342, 329, 93, 641, 79. AS it stands 112 is not booked and the next reserve that is is 394, so what ever grid slot 112 pulls 394 will take over and so on until we have a full grid *** The grid will be drawn at Northampton this Sunday on turns 3/4 during the Rebels European Championship. F2 admins Dave, Wardieee and CB will all be in attendance with Admins DanSkin and FastTrack also in attendance. Members are more than welcome to come and meet the admins and participate in the exciting grid draw. I am lead to believe that Kane, PaulE and Ritzo will also be joining us for the draw. *** Edited July 19, 2014 by Dave488
