And could someone please tell me the point of this topic?
-
Why not simply zip it up and attach it to your post on the forum? Everyone should be able to download it then (if they wish) without any problems.
-
They are included in the UKDirt downloads. I guess you haven't installed all the files.

There is a skin painting guide on the UKDirt Site that explains how to do this. Just use the blue slide out menu, select guides, then select skin painting.

Done m8.

Happy birthday Paul, make it a good one.

Then why not just upload the pictures to the forum direct; it's not that hard? Doing what you are doing slows the forum down by taking ages to load the pictures.

The only reason I can think of, for this to happen, is that you have not got cookies enabled in your browser. You need to turn them on.

Oor Wullie was sent an email 2 days ago explaining why his account has not been activated and I've not received a reply.

You don't expect me to answer that do you?

I've decided to add a new section to the forum. The link to this section is on the main bar at the top of the forum next to the search function and is labelled 'Downloads'. The link has been there for a while whilst I've been busy setting up the software but nobody has had access to it. The purpose of this new piece of software is twofold: First, it is to allow you to continue to download all the mods, skinpacks & templates should the UKDirt site be down for any reason. Whilst you can see all of the files, you will not be able to download these files from here whilst the UKDirt site is operational (you will get an error message should you try to do so). Second, there has been an increased interest in people making videos of various races and I thought this would be the place to host them so that they are all in one place. Initially I thought a video for the major championships for each mod could be made and hosted here but realistically any video (UKDirt related) could be hosted. For people who wish to make a video I would say this: Don't ask me how to make one as I don't know, ask on the forum and someone will be able to help; all I'm doing is providing the hosting for them. The maximum file size is 45MB. Please PM me and I'll give you FTP details to upload the file to the website and I'll make sure it appears in the relevant downloads section. They should be in a format that is readable by Windows Media Player, as that is the only software I have to view the videos - They will be veted before they are available for download. I will be opening this section this coming weekend and would really like to have some videos of major championship races from all mods available for download, so if you feel like having a go please do so. I am aware that these videos are quite large in file size and will eventually eat up quite a bit of bandwidth. We have 100GB of bandwidth available so when 80GB is used up I will be switching the download section off until the first day of the following month (when the bandwidth usage gets reset). This is so that the forum can still be used in the normal way. The forum will take priority over making the downloads available, however I will be keeping an eye on the bandwidth situation over the coming months just in case they are popular and we need to purchase more bandwidth.

Can't view images or attached files

He can't be logged in. If he was logged in then his 'Last Activity' date shown here would show today's date. He does need to log in to view attachments. -

There is no Jaws135 registered on this forum, however there is a Jaws registered, I'm assuming this is who you are talking about. This account has not been used since 20th April 2006 so I'm not sure he has even logged in. If he does log in then he is capable of viewing images and attaching files. -
Can you send me a copy of the email for the UKDirt forum please so I can look into it.

OK I think this topic has run it's course. I agree that people are entitled to their opinion and that they should use this forum to express those opinions, but there is a fine line between expressing an objective opinion and simple name calling. This topic is turning into the latter therefore I'm closing this topic before it gets any worse. Any .car file created by any modeller is their intellectual property (look it up if you don't know what that means!). Permission should be sought from the modeller before anyone does anything with that file, including cracking the file. Dragon has given his permission for the file to be used in the UKDirt league and by that I mean for people to use that chassis in a league environment. That does not mean people can crack the file without first obtaining permission. As far as I can tell Dragon has not given permission for the file to be cracked (Dragon - feel free to PM me if I've got this wrong) which implies that you can't render the car without his permission. Topic Closed.

It's there on the forum just slightly hidden, sorry for that. At the bottom of the main page there is a block of statistics entitled 'Board Statistics'. On that very same row on the right hand side there is a button titled 'Board Options'. Click on it and I believe what you are looking for is the very last option. Hope that helps.

All 2nd tier admins will be put into their own group so that when I need to tell them something or alter one of their settings, they are all in the same place and I can do whatever I need to quickly and easily. It's much the same as the full UKDirt admins group.

I've made a few changes as a result of the recent security update, all aimed at making this forum as secure as possible from potential hackers, whilst still retaining its ease of use for our existing members. The measures outlined below are preventative. The last thing I want is for this forum to be hacked & destroyed, which would take me days to repair. For the record I am not accusing anyone on here of doing anything malitious. The changes I have made are as follows: Over 30 .php files have been changed and uploaded following changes released by the software company in order to make the software more secure (ie to stop hackers running malitious code). All passwords to all private forums have been changed - you will be notified of the new password via PM but please bear with me for a few hours. New people who wish to register to use the forum will have to verify their email address (as they did before the changes) and then have to be approved by myself. There are a few things I will be looking for as I've been made aware of where most of the hacking attempts are coming from and I'm not prepared to release that data. The support systems have been removed as they were a security threat and I've not figured out how to resolve that issue, therefore thought it best to remove the code altogether for now. The site / forum support topic has been renamed General Support so that any support requests for the forum, website or financial issues can be posted in there. I hope you all understand why the forum had to be taken offline for a few hours to make these changes. They were done in the best interests of the UKDirt Official forum.
